We're researching going to DL the week before Christmas for several days. I checked earlier in the week for GCH. Last night, when I checked again, the price had jumped $600!!! (Four nights Sun-Th):faint: I checked both Costco & the Disney sites.

Why didn't I book before and is this really possible?

It appears that DLH and PPH rates stayed the same. UGH.

Same thing happened to me :sad2:

While trying to change dates because of the boys' school tests' schedule, the rates went up a lot, even PPH went up to $277 + tax & daily rates. Did I regret not booking early this time.......

I've had special rates disappear while trying to book
In one case, Disney (online and phone) only had suites and travel sites still had discounted view rooms. Hotels, Travelocity, Expedia all had the same rates. I was able to book through Expedia, after the Hotels price disappeared :thumbsup2

Availability of special offers is limited, but some inventory is dedicated to different travel sites. Always check several travel sites before booking. Your price recently changed, so the old offer might still be available if your search :wizard:

Price is related to inventory. When a room is booked the inventory is reduced and the price goes up.

For very busy times it is best to book well ahead of time rather than get in the crush as room inventory dissapears.

Plus the rose bowl participants have been finalized so I'm sure alot of people are going to try and fit a Disneyland trip as well.

I've learned, If I see a good price, I book it. I can usually back out later.

They may have booked all of their standard room view rooms and the increased price is the next room view level. I have seen that happen several times.

Of course they are. :thumbsup2 New Year's Eve you'll see lots of fans wearing t-shirts supporting both teams. The day after the big game you'll see lots of t-shirts on the backs of proud winners. The losers -- not so much.

I always book early for a reasonable price and then watch to see if it fluctuates. Sometimes there are huge swings.
