Or at least that's what my brother says! I came home today, opened the screen door, and went to put the key in the lock only to realize that the door was open about three inches! Here I am, getting ready to walk into the empty house, and find my door is open! So, I walk into the house, immediately lock the basement door, and do a room by room search with a cane just in case someone had broken in.
So, my brother gets home, and I say, "You left the door open." He says, "I know I shut it. It must have popped open. I know I shut it. I even double checked."
No, there's no way my brother could ever have left the door open. He's too perfect for that. The door just must have popped open, and opened up three inches, even though the rug in the hallway makes it a little difficult for the door to be opened.
And he didn't leave the empty toilet paper roll in the bathroom the other day either.
Don't give me lines. Just say, "Sorry that happened. I'll be more careful in the future."
