:sad2: Well, I just got off the phone with MS trying to change my ressie since I'm at my 7 month window.....and no luck!:sad1: We are booked into SSR from 12/1-12/9 and I wanted to move the ressie to BWV, but no rooms available, the same for BCV, OKW and WLV. Don't get me wrong, we stayed at SSR last May and we LOVED it, but we wanted the convience of the BWV. Honestly, ever since they opened the BW I've wanted to stay there. The very nice CM said the secret is out, what was once a nice quiet time at WDW in early Dec. is no more.:sad1: I was also booking a two bedroom and she said they are very hard to come by. Well, I'm a little sad, but I still get to go and see all the Christmas decorations, something I've never seen yet. Now we have to find a hotel room for one night, 11/30, our night of arrival, we didn't have enough points to stay 11/30-12/9. Any suggestions?????:confused3 It is our travel day so I'm not looking to break the bank for one night! Maybe POP, anyone stay here for the night???? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

We usually drive, and by allowing extra time for any road problems, we usually arrive the night before our DVC reservation begins. We usually stay at POP Century that first night. If you have an Annual Pass, I have gotten AP rates in the $60 to $65 range there, depending on the season.

We've also stayed at Pop for our arrival night, then check in at DVC resort early in the morning. It works fine, and we've also gotten some great AP rates.

Did you waitlist for another resort?

Yes we are AP holders and now you've got me really excited about discounted rates at POP. Where do I make the ressies using the AP discount?? And to answer the other question, no, I decided not to go the waitlist route. When I talked to the CM the most any DVC resort had was two nights, which were 11/30 and 12/1. Since we were staying until 12/9 I just figured we would never get all those nights. Besides our first night, we didn't want to change resorts mid vacation. I'm such a control and planning freak tha I just felt a need to put the ressies to bed, so to speak. So I just kept the SSR ressies and now will book one night in a hotel. Here's another question for all you Disers out there....We want to go to the mvmcp on 12/2, should I call and do this now, or can I wait a little while? We are going to WDW in a month and I thought maybe I would buy the tickets then, good idea, or no?????

Some nights of the MVMCP sell out quickly... The eraly dates are usually avialable but to be on the safe side if you wnat a prticuliar night I would buy them now if not at least 2-3 weeks before hand since you admit to control issues:lmao:
That time of year is VERY busy I stayed at OKW last year similiar time as this was the only resort avaialable for a 2 bedroom at the 7 month window I knew BW and BC were 99% no but you have a small chance if you keep checking... WL :lmao:
SSR is nice durning Christmas as it is close to DTD which has a lot going on that time of year so this is by far not a bad choice for DEC. OKW just did not do it for me for that time of year but I would still stay there again

Call CRO (Disney Travel and Central Reservations) at 407-W Disney or 800-828-0228, tell them your dates and ask if they have an AP discount available. They may not have December discounts available, yet, though.

Yes, OP, we had the same problem finding something too! The secret is definitely out, although I think the rush is mainly DVC members, and not necessarily the general public. I've read that crowds this time of the year are still quite managable.

We called in March for our 11/30-12/4 stay and there was NOTHING at our "home", VWL. So, when we called at 7 mo out to find something else, we got a studio at BWV, preferred view. But we got owner's remorse about not staying at VWL for Xmas and decided to book 2 nights concierge there. We're going to get the best of both worlds!

We've got tix for MVMCP on 12/2; the list on the Theme Parks Boards doesn't have many Dis-ers going that night! Maybe that's a good sign!

So, no, we didn't get our first choice, which upset me at first, but hey, we'll be at WDW. What do they say? A bad day at WDW is still better than a good day at work??? :cool1:

I would buy your MVMCP tickets now. You can pick them up at will call when you are down at WDW in a few weeks. That way you have them in your possession for December.

We are going down for the first time in early December as well. I am really looking forward to seeing all the decorations.:)

I booked two 2-bedroom Boardwalk view for 12/6-12/11 day by day at 11 months out to get them. Of course, I bought at BWV because I knew we traveled in early December and that was the only way we'd get to stay where we wanted to stay. 2008 we'll probably do VWL in December (bought there for the same reason...)

I'm a firm believer in "buy where you want to stay."

Staying at Pop is good if you want/need ME because you don't want to rent a car, and Disney will transfer your luggage to SSR.

Now, if you have the points, because BWV preferred rooms will cost more than SSR, I would go on the waitlist. If you don't intend to buy BWV, and you want to stay at BWV, then go on the waitlist. Do the whole reservation at once, not day by day, if you get it good, if not..you aren't "out" anything. You want to stay there...so give it a try! I agree that being in SSR is good because there are lots of things going on at DTD in December!

PS. No matter when you buy the tickets for MVMCP, you don't have to pick them up until the party trip. Why pick them up sooner? It's just something else that you HAVE to remember to bring with you.

Since I bought BWV in 1999 (first trip in 2000), that week has always been busy. I always book at 11 months, day by day.

I go to MVMCP Sun, Mon or Tues, I've never had a problem buying tickets when I get there (first week of Dec). I like to make sure I get a good weather night.

We're staying at SSR early December too, we get there on the 2nd.
December is a great time to go, you'll love it.

Looks like we might have to change our plans too, because we were hoping to move to another resort at some point during our stay as we're there until 14th Dec.
