I ordered something online. For some reason that I don't know and it wasn't disclosed to me at the time I made the order, it was shipped via UPS and requires a signature. It doesn't just require a signature. There has to be a person present to sign for it and receive the package.
The first attempted delivery was last Friday when no one was home. It was made at about 6:45 pm. Fine, they left a slip wich said the second attempt would be made on Monday. No time was indicated. They came again on Monday at 3:06 pm when no one was home. Of course we weren't home. We work. The slip left this time said that he final attempt would be made on Tuesday between the hours of 2 pm and 5 pm. Like I said, we work and I knew that no one would be home between 2 pm and 5 pm to sign for the package. So, I called UPS to see what could be done. They said that because of the level of service chosen by the shipper, they cannot change the time and it could only be delivered during business hours (of course the first attempt was well after business hours but I guess that's beside the point). They will not adjust the delivery time. I told them that no one would be there to receive the package between 2 pm and 5 pm so they might as well not waste their resources and attempt to deliver it.
So, they were going to send it back to the shipper (my dealing with the shipper is a different story). Well, last night, who shows up at my door around 7:30 pm but the UPS guy. He's there to PICK UP the package that is to be returned to the shipper. HELLO, I never got it. That was the reason it was being returned to the shipper. If a UPS guy was going to come to my house at 7:30 pm, why couldn't he bring my package? They can't send a truck to me to deliver my package but they can send a truck to pick up a package I don't have. Sheesh.

for me. I'm at a loss as to why anyone uses the package delivery services. On top of the difficulty I've had with them UPS makes a habit of blocking in the wheelchair ramp or the accessible parking at my work. I can understand not clueing in about the ramp and blocking it once, but everyday when you know someone needs it
I'm guessing it would take me an hour and a half in heavy traffic which is a problem because it closes at 7pm and isn't open on the week-end.
. But they just kept delivering it. After the second attempt I called and reminded them that they said they would hold it and deliver on X date. They apologized and said it was all right there in the computer. Then I got the third notice, saying it was being sent back to the shipper.
I drove 45 minutes to the UPS office to pick it up only to find out it wasn't even there. It was on a special truck that makes deliveries at night. I finally got it on Christmas Eve.
