Mine went up $9.17 per month! (I own at BCV.) How is everyone else's dues???

it cost to upkeep.............i think when you buy you always must remember cost will rise as well.............

Our total monthly withdrawal went down - SSR.

I guess the amount of shock probably depends on how many points you own, LOL. We don't have hundreds and hundreds so we're not real upset. ;)

Our dues actually went down. We own at the Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge and Saratoga. We're not sure which one went down, but the overall payment dropped about $20 a month. :cool1:

My BWV monthly payment went from $88.61 to $91.89 for 250 points. Less than a 4% increase. My January payment is $112.84 because of the underestimated taxes ($20.95 extra).

Dues at all DVC resorts went up for 2005. Some SSR owners may actually see a decline in their auto-debit payment versus 2004 since they didn't have to pay a full year's dues for that resort (dues are prorated based on purchase date for all bought directly thru DVC). In addition, the underestimated property taxes add a little extra to the amount owed in 2005 (those with autodebit will have the additional tax deducted from the January 15 withdrawal and then the amount will be less for the remaining monthly debits).

Just got my new dues statement, today, and mine went up about the same as yours. I have 150 points at BCV.

If you do monthly withdraws is it always on the 15th of the month? I have not recieved my statement yet but I did fill out the paperwork for the monthly payments. I'm just wondering when it will be taken.

Something doesn't sound right. According to the charts posted, BCV went from $4.18 to $4.27 a point. That's .09 per point. On 150 points, the annual difference should be $13.50 total or a little over $1 per month. Are you looking at January which includes the additional tax charge?

NMW - you have the choice of either the 1st or the 15th. If you chose the 1st, they take it out on Jan 15 and then the 1st the rest of the months.

We added on so many times last year (3 to be precise), I have not even noticed.

I have one larger payment for January to make up for 2004 taxes but then my dues are only $1.91 per month more for 2005 than for 2004. I have 50 BCV and 155 HH. I was pleased that the increase was only about $23 over 2004, which if I do the stats right is only about a 2.8% increase.

my philosophy is being a DVC owner is a lifestyle choice you make for your family..............regardless of cost...........initially i think a fair shar eof us bought because if your a disney freak going to disney multiple times a yr cost a ton if youre a non DVC person...........at this time my philosophy is different............it has become so ingrained in my family we dont make decisions on cost any longer because we feel the benefit far outweighs the costs...........

Ours went down also. I think I over paid SSR in 2004. Went from 48 to 43 a month (auto debit bank account).

We own at SSR, 175, and our dues went down a little over $15 a month.

You didn't overpay in 2004- you just paid your SSR fees over a shorter period of time. This year they are spread out over 12 payments and are a little lower per month even though the total amount due is higher.

We own at BWV, and VWL... Our dues went up by about 3.4%... that works out to about a $5/mth increase.

No big deal.

Yep, ours too. BCV 150 pts. Went from $44+ to $53+ with Jan. being $65+ for one month only. So we are right there with you.

With SSR, remember that the prorating of dues works out so that you end up paying more per month in the first year (because there is a lag typically between the date from which you pay the dues until the first payment is collected). Also, there was a quirk in the 2005 dues for SSR where Disney is subsidizing the dues (in effect).
