It's been such a long time since I was on the USF boards so hi to everyone

I haven't been to Universal since 2000 although I did visit IoA in 2001, so I was thinking of visiting Universal again and possible IoA on the same day.

However the day I was thinking of was Monday 30th December - we only want to do some of the attractions at US and then I want to show IoA to Paul who has never been but hates the big rides so I thought it would be just nice to walk around the park, smell the coffee as it were ;)

Do you think it would be possible to do some of the major attractions at US and then headover early afternoon to IoA.

Would you also be able to tell me how the US fast pass system works and for what rides - or direct me to the appropriate link?

Hope you can all help

Sam have you considered staying onsite at one of the hotels? If your trying to accomplish both parks in a one or two day period that would be the optuim way to go. The day you check in you get your room key that morning as early as 8 or better and you would also be able to use it the next day as well. You could do one park each day or slam them and do them both on on day. I would imagine the 30th to be a very busy park day and that would be great if you could do walk on's to most everything. As far as fast pass I can't tell you how it works i've always had FOTL maybe someone will jump in to help you on that. I have heard they get gone pretty quick on busy days. Have a great trip

Tammy thanks for your help but staying on-site isn't an option for us, it's too much of a palaver for us. We really just want to go to US for the day and then pop over to IoA just to walk around it - so I guess it's only US that I want to do:

I've been thinking about the attractions that we want to do and these are the only ones that we're bothered about:

Jaws
ET
Earthquake
Twister
MIB
Terminator

And then we just wanna take it all in.

Hope someone can help on my question about the fast pass system.

Thanks again everyone

He would be find for Jaws it's a boat type of ride that's fairly slow moving and no jerks or drops. Twister and Terminator are no problem either, Twister is a standing room situation where things go on around you. Terminator is a movie theater type setting with things going on but you sit in a movie style chair. MIB has some spins in it but there mild and don't last maybe 3 or 4 spins it's a mild ride on a track so there's no drops or fast speed at all. ET is on bikes i think two rows of 6 or so it's a mild mannered ride through vairious sences. Earthquake is on a tram and is very mild mannered as well no drops no fast speed bascially most of the action occurs around you your just sitting in the tram taking it all in while they simulate an earthquake around you there is very mild mannered motion in the tram while your sitting still. Hope that helps you.

Sam we did this last visit during the Presidents day week if that makes sense, it was pretty busy as there was a special parade for the NY firefighters that got pulled out of the wreckage on 9/11, we still managed to do all we wanted in both parks by arriving at park opening (IOA) and moving over to US at lunch time, we had dinner at Pebbles at 7 ish that evening.
Ask me more on Saturday - I'm not going shopping!!
