I just transfered my DCL reservation over to Dreams Unlimited and saved over $500!! Thank you SueEllen!

We are now travelling in two Cat 6 rooms in March 2006 for less money than one Cat 6 room over Easter 2005.

Thanks to this board and DU - you've made my day!!! And it's my Birthday today!

Happy Birthday to you!! Glad I could help and I hope you enjoy your birthday. Nice to know I made it just a little sweeter :)

Sue Ellen

I'm glad you got a good deal on your cruise. Have fun!

I keep hearing about all these people who have great experiences with DU. So far I'm still waiting to have a decent experience. I'm still waiting for the quote I requested over 24 hours ago.

Last time I requested a quote from DU it took 3 days, and was for $200 more than the one I got from Small World Travel.

See, I dont understand how everyone gets these great deals with DU? Everytime I have requested a quote from them, it is the EXACT same price as going thru DCL directly. DOwn to the penny...

Sometimes it comes down to the rebate.. dreams often gives a rebate (based on the amt. of your cruise) that DCL does not and it lowers the price below DCL.

I keep reading about peeps who transfer from one agency or DCL to another. How does this work? Are there tranfer fees? Sorry, newbie here! TIA!

No transfer fees that I know of. When we rebooked on our last cruise they told us that we could transfer the reservation out to any travel agent we wanted. They almost incouraged it.

For my transfer - I just went to the DU transfer page on the website and filled in our DCL reservation number and other info, and SueEllen took care of it.

I still dont undertand. Why deal with a rebate, a set amount when you can go thru a different TA ie allseas or Dana@micdan to get more saving right off the bat? If I would have went with DU I would have gotten a maximum rebate of $200 whereas with dana@micdan I saved $400 of my total, AND when I go in November, I will look into rebooking on board, if the deal is better, I will save even more $.

The rebate with DU is right from the start. It gets taken off on the quote that they send you.

In July I got quotes for a Sept 2005 cruise from All seasons and DU. I heard from DU within an hour. I never heard from All seasons when I requested more information. It said someone would contact me within two days and I never got a phone call or email. So we went with DU for the Sept 2005 cruise. Sue Ellen has answered a millon questions from me and she is always helpful. She gets back to me within a couple of hours. That's why we are booking thourgh DU for a 2006 cruise that my whole family is going on.

I had the same situation - the exact same as DCL - no rebates offered - do these rebates come after you book?
I need to make my decision Sunday who I am going with - any suggestions?

Thanks
Lil

The rebate should be shown on your quote page and is taken off of your total cost.

Lil,
I have used Dana at www.micdan.com 3 times and she has always been able to save more than what Dreams would after the rebate. Give her a call, her number is on the webpage and that way you will know for sure. She was able to save me $400 off my May 27 06 cruise.

I agree with Amanda. Dana is wonderful. Her prices are the best!
