wow here we go again with alamo

i booked my car a while back we are getting an equinox 10 days $219 not bad used costco coupons and waiting for the price to drop hopefully.

so, today i checked my rate again , well for aug 27 to sept 5 $379 . even sw went up (i have my airfair booked aready too waiting for a ding), what is us with all these compainies?????

I just checked my rates for about the same timeframe 8/25 - 9/7. I have not booked yet, but I checked this past weekend and it was approx $450 for a minit van and now it is Approx $600. I should have booked over the weekend, but last year I paid $368 for 2 days longer and I wanted to get closer to that rate. Hopefully they will go down.

I'm not renting at MCO, but, FLL for 10 days in July. I keep checking rates from all the popular rental co's. I started out with Budget at $541.00 and ended up with Alamo at $408. This is for an SUV. Anyway, checking them all again this morning, I noticed that every company is way up, more higher then Budget at $541.00.

That being said, I do think that they all will come down again. Alot of the codes/discounts are until 6/27, so maybe when it gets closer to that date some new discounts will be coming out giving lower rates.

I just reserved a minivan through Alamo yesterday for two weeks for a total of $431. There's a thread on this board with some discounts if you pay with a VISA card.

We are doing a full size for 7 days out of Ft. Myers (going to Naples) and the cost with 2 car seats is $320. Without the seats it would be $220.

Glad I booked my last week, still haven't seen a coupon that can beat the AMEX deal on a minvan @ $219 before the fees for my August dates.

We currently have ressies with Thrifty for 8/11-18 for an economy car (I drive a Neon with no A/C...this one will be a luxury!) for $160 including all taxes and fees. I used the Orlando Magic Card discount on the Mousesavers.com site. Dollar's prices are comparable, $170 for the same size car, using the corporate ID for the Orlando Visitors Bureau also found on the Mousesavers site. Everywhere else is almost $100 more. Just picked up a Full size with Alamo for 29 Aug thru 4 Sept for $155 with taxes.
I have a BJ's Wholesale Club membership (like a Costco for those who do not live in the Northeast), and the had coupons for a free day + the usual 25% discount for members. Very cool.
I am normally an Avis renter, but they are WAY too expensive for the same time.
