We drove to Branson this past week and just returned yesterday. I couldn't believe that we bought gas in Springfield, MO for $3.35/gallon!!! :woohoo: Back home it is about $3.61. I haven't seen gas that "cheap" in a long time! (Of course we still had to pay $4.89/gallon for gas for the boat at Tablerock Lake. :headache:. They know when they've got you!

The scary thing is that I thought $3.35 was a bargain purchase!!!!:confused3

That's kinda funny; I saw $4.09 over the weekend and got happy... here's hoping we get under four dollars soon! ::yes::

I never thought I was think $3.35 per gallon would be cheap but I would welcome it in a second.

Gas here dipped down to $3.93 a gallon and I was pretty happy.

Never thought I'd be happy about that. :sad2:

We were in Pittsburgh last week and Sheetz had gas at $3.45 in huge numbers on their sign, but when we pulled in we found out the $3.45 was for ethanol, regular gas was $3.89. I never saw a gas station with ethanol pumps before. :confused3

I paid $3.69 yesterday - charged it too! :woohoo: (and didn't even have to get out of the car to pump it) :goodvibes
Most places around here charge less if you pay cash. Up to 10 cents less sometimes!

We are down to 3.69 here :thumbsup2 About twenty five cents in two weeks.....I like to see it dropping even if it is still high. At least it is moving in the right direction!

Saw gas at $3.58 on our way back from South Padre Island this weekend. $3.54 today at our local Kroger store after 10 cent discount.

We finally saw $3.95 here after it being around $4.40 the last several weeks.

I use premium and last week it was $3.99 at BJ's - I thought I hit the lottery!!

Do you think this is all a psychological game someone is playing? Do you think they are toying with us to see what we are willing to pay?

I read an article that said once regular gas went over $4.00 per gallon American's started changing their driving habits.

Now that it is below $4 we are 'happy' to pay $3+. I have a feeling we're being 'played' by someone.

popcorn::

Oh I definitely think it is all a game, one where the consumer is the loser :sad2: And this game of theirs totally works. I was so excited to see $3.69 today , that was until it still took $ 46 to fill my midsize car :headache:

I have noticed that here at least Diesel isn't dropping as fast :confused3

We're totally being duped into thinking that anything less than $3.50 is cheap. It's disgusting.

I just got our heating oil budget letter for this year and was advised that they've locked me in for the "budget price" of $4.699 a gallon! :confused3

I paid $4.03 yesterday... Illinois and the lousy taxes... State, County, City, Municipal... it'll make you crazy and broke!

Don't know where you are in STL but by the airport I got it this morning for 3.59. It still cost 63.00 to fill my van but better than the 75.00 I had been paying.

I'm in south county and I just saw the Quicktrip had it for $3.59 also. Oh, but don't forget to add that extra .9 cents to every gallon! It cracks me up that it's always 3.599 per gallon!

We are in NW Ohio. I got gas Saturday for $3.58 and was thrilled, :goodvibes how pitiful is that? I told DH is is sad that we are hoping for, dreaming of, wishing for, gas under $3.50 a gallon!

And, the sad thing is... they've "got us"... we have to have gas to work, go to school, grocery shop, ect... "they" know we will buy it, no matter the cost!

On the upside, we switched propane suppliers about 13 months ago, and thankfully are locked in for another season (it was a two year lock) at $1.99 a gallon! :thumbsup2 Now next year... ugh! :scared1:

Hmm gas dropping as an election nears? I recall a similar trend during the last election.

I think this is bad news overall. The pressure eases and things will go back to the way they were. People won't conserve as much, demand for alternatives will ease and we will slowly climb back to the same point. Although it is nice in the short run and will really help people short term, the long term effects are a bit worrisome. Especially given the lack of headway into alternatives. If alternative fuel was similar to our computing technology, we would all be driving cars with batteries the size of a deck of cards.
