I have about 15 locations already (2 hours or less since i posted the email) to go through with my wife that are all under 700 in total (tax, tag and title so to speak). I am curious about there shuttle service. 14 bucks a day to park is no biggie, but i don't mind having to wait on a bus for a while if it saves money the girls can buy things on. While we don't want to let them get everything, i don't want it to be like the cereal aisle at publix either where we say no to virtually everything.

If you're talking about the shuttle service at WH, it isn't free and it will cost you more than the $14. parking fee at Disney. This is from a WH owner's website:
How does the Windsor Hills Resort daily shuttle service work/operate/etc?

In the sundry shop in the Windsor Hills Resort clubhouse you can find schedules and make arrangements. Shuttle cost is $10 per person round trip to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM, or Animal Kingdom. $14 per person round trip to Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Wet n' Wild, and shopping areas (Orlando Premium Outlets). There is an information sheet at the clubhouse welcome center with the time schedule. The shuttle company is MAINGATE TRANSPORTATION. They can be called at # 407-390-0000, or 407-870-5553 x2 for questions or reservations. This is an independent transportation company that provides this service to several resorts in the area, they are not part of Windsor Hills Resort.

A taxi cab to Disney is $20 one way.. cab to Universal is $32 one way.... Don't forget it costs $11 per day for parking at Disney and Universal if you drive, although you can come and go freely from various parks, it's pay just once per day for parking at all of the Disney parks.

12/1-12/30 - Magic Kingdom - 5:00pm, 8:00pm, 10:00pm, location - Taxi and Guest Drop off area (not bus parking)

12/31 - Magic Kingdom - 5:00pm, 8:00pm, 10:00pm, 1:00am

12/1-12/30 - Epcot - 5:10pm, 8:10pm, 10:10pm - location - Taxi and Guest Drop off area (not bus parking)

12/1-12/30 - Hollywood Studios (MGM) - 5:20pm, 8:20pm, 10:20pm - location - Motorcycle parking by Checker Cab Stand

12/1-12/30 - Animal Kingdom - 5:30pm, 8:30pm - location - Green Canopy by Bus Parking

Questions / Comments - Call 407-870-5553 Ext. 2 - Shuttles are priced on a per person, round trip basis. Scheduled times are departure times. Shuttle times are subject to traffic and weather conditions and may occasionally run late. All passengers must have a transportation voucher. Your resort/hotel and/or Maingate Transportation will not provide reimbursement for taxi or limousine service due to missed shuttles. There is NO smoking, eating, drinking, strollers or luggage permitted on the shuttle.

We drove to the parks everyday from WH. It didn't take long at all. I think like 5 min to the dis gates and a few more min to MK. We paid the daily parking fee, although 1 day we got lucky and were waved on to park without having to pay

Exactly why we will never stay onsite again. Makes no sense, even with parking, you save so much and get so much more.

Can anyone comment on the actual drive time to Universal Studios from here? (Either WP or WH) Google Maps says 25 minutes, various WH rental websites say 15-20 minutes. Which is it?
Also, I just read a tip on a rental site about using Sherberth Rd from Windsor Hills, even if you're going to Universal, because you can bypass traffic on 192 by cutting through the World and getting on I4 at Osceola Pkwy. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Probably closer to 20-25 min. We were at WH and left about 45 min. before opening (but we were never in a huge hurry). It's a pretty easy drive down 192 to I-4. US has their own exit that takes you right down to the parking garage. All parking is in a deck and you walk from the parking decks through City Walk to get to US and IOA. Most of the walk is either escalator or those moving sidewalks like at an airport. I've heard of the shortcfut to get to DW, but never heard of it for US.

We didn't go to Universal, but we never hit any traffic on 192 during our stay in March.
