Do they always go up so much on the weekends? Is it just because its Friday? Should I wait until Mid-Week? Ugh now im getting nervous!

I know what you mean. I had checked from RDU to MCO for Sept. and the price was $168. I waited until this morning and thought I would book it. The price went up to $180. I was mad at myself for not buying the tickets earlier this week. My DH is just laughing at me. He says "It's $12. What's the big deal?" I guess it's just a game with me. I'm waiting it out for a few days to see if it goes back down.

Never wait to buy if you think the prices are OK..usually that go up..rarely they come down...

Sometimes they will come back down, but usually they continue to rise because once a fare in a certain class is sold out the computer moves onto the next class and the price is higher for each level.

from the reading and surfing about air prices - indications are that Sat/Sun are higher (makes sense more folks surfing and buying) and that Wed are actually the best day of the week. Ever notice how your mailbox is filled with travel deals that day ?

Just this AM was surfing prices and they went up while I was looking - I think there are "magic" hours that times just have an automatic increase - the earlier the lower.

The airlines usually have deals Tuesday or Wednesday. One airline will reduce their rates and then another will follow suit. I would wait for mid week.

However, I notice that the OP is only 6 weeks out. I would not wait too much longer. As a general rule once you get within 4 to 5 weeks deals get harder to find.

I heard it because of the increase in gas prices.

I think so too. Remember, if you see that the oil price got higher this month, that means that for the consumer the prices will be higher the following month. That's how it works!

I just booked my July trip, mostly because of the gas prices too. FlyI was having yet another sale, so booked Wash/Dulles to MCO for $136 rt. A great price, but I do have my May trip for $116. I didn't want to take a chance that this might be the last low fare I see this summer.

I need your flying experts............

I have been lerking around airline websites and I to noticed the price go up, last year was pretty easy, bought tickets about 4 to 6 weeks before trip for around 125.00 each from BHM to MCO and buying the tickets at that time framed kinda scared me just thining what if something happned and could not go.(would be out around 250.00) thats alot for a single mom of a 11 yrs old son.

So i guess my question is my trip is planned for Oct 15 2005, would you buy tickets now or is it way to early??

thanks brooke :)
