Staying at vgf for the first time after multiple stays at BCV, our home resort.

Had no idea what to expect
And was stunned.
Son (20) said its a mansion! Lake view, top floor and magnificent.
Everything clean, new and amazing. Stunned by the shower which is bigger than my bathroom, TV in the mirror, the tub, the view and the detail in the ceilings. Wife now wants a new kitchen. Also love the Christmas music everywhere.

Ate at Be Our Guest for the first time. I must say the food was the best we have ever had in the magic kingdom. Great start to a vacation!

Trying it for a couple of nights this spring and feel the same ^^^

VGF and PVB are truly well-appointed. Although these resorts have significantly higher point charts, the points are certainly worth it if you enjoy room/resort time equally or more than park time.

We always sleep in during our VGF stays and use the quick service location, Gasparilla Island Grill, more frequently than at other resorts.

Our first, and only, stay ant VGF was an extra night we added last January in a 1bdr. It was really hard leaving the resort the next day and knowing we were going to be moving to SSR. The concierge went out of his way and spent a half hour trying to find a way for us to stay at VGF for the extra night of our split stay. We were doing 3 resorts this trip and he was trying to get it down to 2 resorts. This is the prettiest room I have ever stayed at at WDW and they provided the best CM service. He was not able to get the room that was free because it was HC and they have to keep it open. After we went to the room, at 9 pm, the CM that helped with out bags waited downstairs for us with a golf cart to take us over the the poly to get some food. It was spectacular.

I would take a room there every time if I could afford the points

We stayed there last September, in a 2 bedroom. I am fully an AKV kind of girl and had no interest in VGF. I fell in love with it. Spectacular! CMs were amazing. Ever since our first day there, I have been harassing my husband about adding on.

Same here - we stayed at VGF last March and were completely impressed! The rooms are so tastefully done and clean.

I am worried that if I stay there, I will have the same reaction as you. And that would probably mean buying another contract.
Haha
With a son in college at $46k a year I have no plans to add on

One interesting thing was the hot tub
After using it I shut it off and drained it but it came back on by itself 5 minutes later
I hit the off button again but it came back on several times
The front desk told me it has a drying sensor in it and it will come on for 30 seconds until dry
Mentioned this in case others have the same experience

I'm probably the only person, in the world, that isn't overwhelmed by the VGF. My friend stayed there last month...she owns there. I own at BWV and BLT. The hallways are more spacious, and not nearly as long as at BWV, that's for sure. But, with many of the vilas in little off shoot hallway areas, it makes it tight. And I didn't think the room was all that large....I have more room at BW. The appointments are nice, but in reality, why do I need a tv in my mirror? If the tv had been in the toilet/tub area? A better fit. I know most people love it there....and I was prepared to fall in love. But, happily, that wasn't the case!!!! Otherwise my DH would have been badgered to buy points there!!!

Actually could not get the TV in the mirror to change channels while in the tub.
As I mentioned, although I was impressed, I have other financial commitments and will not be purchasing at this point. I can just try and book at the 7 month window or else stay at BCV. We transferred to BCV after three days and were sad that the room was not ready till about 5pm. Didnot get the view I asked for and frankly the rooms really look tired. I know that they will be redone in the next year. It's still light years better than staying in a AllStars resort and we are lucky to own at all.

There is no way a BWV is larger than a VGF villa. Many of the rooms are more than 150 square feet larger. Maybe some of the dedicated rooms at BVW have larger living rooms but the kitchen is tiny and so is the refrigerator. I understand if you like BWV better but there is no comparison of the room size because VGF is much larger.

Gf is too small and a jumble of all DVC categories to be of effective use for the majority of DVC memebers as it currently stands. I think they'll convert other buildings in the relatively near future and then it will be more functional.

I like the approach with the poly so far...they should go that route further down the path

I stayed in a studio in May 2014, loved it! I always said the only thing that would make me give up my BWV would be GF. But when the reality came, it is too expensive per point and the extra points you need each stay. We like to move around, I have Poly booked for May.

I stopped by a DVC sales desk today and was told all VGF points have been sold.

I'm pretty sure it's been that way for awhile

Just polyneisian and the oahu nightmare

And have zero interest in a studio at the Poly (no one brs?) and living on the east coast no interest in Hawaii- way too much time traveling

Well....all I can base my statement on is what I experienced. The kitchenette area, of the studio, is smaller at VGF. The sink is tiny. I had plenty of extra room next to the lamp at bwv. At the VGF, the sofa was pushed right up next to the drapes. It just felt cramped in that studio. Perhaps the double bathroom set up takes up space.
Perhaps it's a different story with one bedroom units, but the studio I was in just felt cramped.
