We took down 8 trees (left a tall Oak as we just love the tree) and it has opened up the yard to a lot of sun... Now I will get that grass to grow... And it will allow some of the other trees to develop full canopys...

One of the pines we took down was FULL and I mean FULL of carpenter ants. The base was almost completely nested. It would have been a real mess this winter with snow... It might have fallen over. It was a good 8 to 10 feet of the trunk that was a nest.... Took a while to clean that up...

What a difference, huh? Your gardens love you for it.

We had to put in a title five septic and I lost 5 big trees out front...I cried, but more light is nice.

Opens you up to more new plants:) Lot of work removing that many trees though.

I bet it looks great! I sure wouldn't miss those ants either!

Big job will sure to give you big rewards. Can't wait to see new pictures.

I love to hear the buzz of a chainsaw in the morning........;)

Were all the trees pine Nat? Do you have a fireplace for using up the wood this winter? I know pine is no good for a woodstove.

I'm with Tulirose, can't wait to see a pic of the "new" yard! :)

Just think of all the leaves you WON'T be raking this fall!

I know, I know.....Pollyanna at her finest!

That was one of my first thoughts... Less Raking!!!!
