Wow,
just checked BA flight prices for April 2005!! From Glasgow to MCO, Saturday 2nd April, 2 adults 2 kids - 4394 pounds!!! Thats 1243 per adult and 954 per child!!!
Why is it so high???? It's not even Easter - the weekend after!!

Cath :D

Tell me about it! I don't know what's up with Easter next year but I've been looking (out of curiosity only ;) ) at the prices and they are SKY high for anywhere even remotely near Easter next year. Many flights are also shown as being full already! Is there some grand celebration at Easter time next year that I don't know about? ;)

Richard.

We have just booked for Easter next year. But it was touch and go. We wanted to fly with US Airways but their flights were full (unless you changed twice!) Struggled to find anything reasonable with Expedia. Flights seem very hard to come by.

In the end I rang Airline Network and they managed to get us BMI/United flights via Washington DC for £346 each flying out on 16th March - 2 days earlier than we had wanted, though.

Their agent says the airlines only release a small number at the cheaper prices. Once they've gone they put the prices up.

I'm glad we decided to book early!

Julie

ive just booked for easter 25th march to 8th april with delta vacations at a price of £321 + airport taxs:yo-yo:

WOW for the BA prices:eek:

Delta is morel ike it!

We tried to book BA for next Feb in early March all the cheap seats had gone and we were quoted almost as much as you. We ended up getting Virgin the day they were released thanks to a very helpful agent.

Last year we booked BA for this Feb in May and got the cheap seats, whats going on?

Don't know if this would help anyone but we had tried to book
via Virgin Travelstore (LGW - MCO) for our dates 29/01/05 - 19/02/05 and via the flight prices kept on increasing! - by the time we wanted to book the price had increased by £300+ and then they told me that you now have to pay in full when you book!! for the special offer fares they offer (unless you go for the more expensive option of the Virgin brochure) - as we are still paying this year's hols off - not an option - I then thought I would try for the first time British Airways - they have an offer on at the moment. We managed to book - outward Club (Business Class - cost an extra £300 per person) and inward their World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) for £778AD & £568 child which was much the same as Virgin's PE prices now that they had gone up - always wanted to try Club Class & originally wanted to do this on the inward leg but the special offer prices were not available so thought I would do this on the outward flight and feel refreshed when we got there - never flown BA though - I always have flown Virgin - but thought I would give them a try..... A few disadvantages flying BA - ie no Downtown Disney Checkin - no separate WTP check in desk & no preferential treatment for the luggage But because of the special offer I thought I would try them.

Rainy UK those prices sounds great for club/ traveller+.

Talk about going in style!::yes::

Dear Cath
I assume the flights you are trying to book are via gatwick.
Try booking the two legs of your flight seperately i.e glasgow - lgw, then lgw - mco it often works out much cheaper - dont know why but it does
hope that helps
cath

Hi Cath

Had another thought, have you thought about using a charter flight in premium seats. I'm told first choice are upgrading their service and it will be comparable with the schedule flights, i have priced your dates from gatwick and you could have your flights for 2996 in premium or 2316 in economy

hope this is of a help to you
cath
ps flights for those dates from glasgow to gatwick return are 252 for the four of you

We usually go United - who are usually much cheaper - even though it's a three leg journey, we don't mind.
I was just curious at what BA prices would be - but it's a bit steep.

As for charters - very few fly from Glasgow at that time of year, and those that do are expensive.

Cath
