wow Avis Preferred and newer cars!

just had to say, that we got a fully loaded brand new Alero with only 3.8 miles on it!!!!!!

we were in shock!
too bad we only rented it for a day.

the only problem with new cars like that .....they tend to be gas HOGS .....until they are broken in...

we had a malibu when we were there last time with Avis and we did not get good gas mileage with it.....

anyhow......driving a new car is NEAT too

I have to agree about the gas hog problem. I returned yesterday from a five day trip with Avis preferred. We got an Alero with 488 miles on it (I had booked a compact, so I was very happy with this car). But we drove 200 miles and used a full tank of gas (12.something gallons when I filled up). I'm used to getting 400 miles to a tank with my Corolla so this was a bit of a shocker to me. But Avis preferred rocks!
