Would you upgrade to Deluxe?

Our trip is in late September (2 adults/1 child traveling with another family) and we snagged free dining :cool1:. The plan had always been to upgrade to the deluxe dining (we've done it the past 2x we've gone and everyone loved it). I was going to add it on maybe this month or next, however, people are now reporting that sometimes when changing their package they lose their FP+ selections. I stayed up until 1:30am the other night choosing them and got one for A&E so to not risk losing it I'm considering just paying OOP for the remainder of our planned meals. Here is what we have:

Day 1 Probably QS lunch when we arrive/California Grill dinner
Day 2 Akershus breakfast/Via Napoli late lunch/QS dinner if we eat at all
Day 3 Tusker House breakfast/Hoop Dee Doo dinner
Day 4 1900 Park Fare breakfast/QS late lunch (MNSSHP night)
Day 5 Crystal Palace breakfast/hoping to snag a FP+ for a late BOG QS lunch
Day 6 QS breakfast (probably at hotel)/F&W festival lunch (snack credits/Flying Fish Cafe dinner
Day 7 Hollywood & Vine breakfast/50's Prime Time Cafe dinner
Day 8 Chef Mickey's brunch/probably grab a QS before ME picks us up (maybe 4:00?)

I think I might be able to save money buy paying OOP for the signature meals (we probably won't order 2 credits worth of food per person), but it will come close. We will likely eat appetizers and desserts at most if not all our sit down lunches and dinners so having the app prepaid for would be nice. Also having additional snack credits for F&W would be nice. But, I foresee using a lot of QS credits so the extra money spent on the deluxe might be wasted on these less expensive meals.

WWYD? Any thoughts or advice on whether the upgrade would be worth it??

I would call Disney and ask if I upgraded if it would change what I have. I have upgraded in the past and do not remember it changing anything. You mentioned paying for the one meal that takes 2 credits. I would compare with that against 2 of your breakfast cost. If I pay out of pocket I usually pay for the character breakfast, and they may prove to be cheaper out of pocket than the one meal for 2 credits. I don't know that, haven't done the math, and would check that out. Calling Disney may give you a more accurate price of meals. Then you have to consider your tip, your 2 credit meal will include your tip.

I believe this is some new IT bug having to do with FP+ selections. Some people have made changes with no issues and some have lost FP+ and couldn't get them back. I would hate for that to happen.

We actually have three 2 credit meals. California Grill, Flying Fish Cafe and Hoop Dee Doo.

Tips are actually not included in signature dining except for CRT and dinner shows. So Hoop Dee Doo is the only one I would not have to pay a tip for but that would be the case regardless of whether I used a credit or paid OOP.

Thanks for clarifying it! I did not realize you had that many 2 credit meals, and I was referring to the dinner show, when I posted my comments about the tip. Sorry I wasn't more helpful! LOL! You are indeed in a dilemma!:headache:
