Hi all! Would you stay at PORS with the rehabs going on? We are considering it? Thanks S

If the main pool, food court and boats are all open-SURE! We stayed at CSR in Sept and did not even realize until we drove by that most(if not all) of the Ranchos were shut down(low attendance I suppose). Means less people were there and in the pool and facilities:D ! We enjoy POR for the 3 things I named, so if they were open, we would still go!

We are going to be there from July 12 to July 19.

As long as there is no construction going on it would be ideal to be there. No wait for busses? Lots of pools with one-half the amount of guests?

I think a this time we will sit still and see if what kind of rate we will get with new codes coming out. If there are no codes because of it being full then we will consider moving to somewhere that a code may be cheaper.

Just my opinion!
Kathy

Sure would. We stayed last time that FQ was closed..and when we were there in August, Bldg 14 and a few others were closed and were being rehabbed (some painted..others looked like the inside was having work done. They were spray painting the outsides, and while I knew work was going on from the soft hum, it wasn't troublesome.

This may sound "out of sorts" but if Bob Jackson is off stage when we are there...Aug. 15 - 24 AND Nov. 26 - Nov 30th.....

Then we are going to switch to CBR or wait and see if they upgrade us to a deluxe.

We love POR....but all the other resorts are great too.

By no means are we BIG drinkers or anything like that....but, we have a great time when we see Bob's show and we like to have a few drinks. By staying at POR ....we DO NOT have to get behind a wheel and drive to another resort after seeing Bob.
Whether its 2 drinks or 6 drinks.

From everything I have heard...he will still be on stage. So we plan on being there while the renovations are taking place. BUT things change. So we will wait and see.

:D We'll be there 8/28-9/1 and have no problem being there amidst refurbishment. I agree with everyone else-less people means less crowded everything and I'm sure it will be fine.

Me again:p ! Actually we WERE there one time when they were working on two of the mansions! We had wanted Magnolia Terrace(our favorite), but they called and told us it was being painted (and some roof work) and asked where we would like to stay instead. We picked Acadian manor and enjoyed it and NEVER saw or heard any work:D . And not a SOUL was at the quiet pool in between the two mansions one day when we were in it:cool: ! Food court less crowded than previous visits. And we were at WL when they were working on rooms on the North side. You could see something hanging over the areas, but never really saw or heard anything. I think it happens a lot around WDW resorts. Ongoing to keep things up. If I heard it was lots more and services would suffer, then I would change.

I wouldn't want to stay there again, period. :jester: ;) But most people love it.
When we stayed at ASMu in January during the week day the preferred buildings were completely empty. Didn't effect anything. (Although there aren't that many perks at the AS anuway. ;) )
As a matter of fact, the laundry facility in that area was available and no one was using it.
As long as the DD boat was running and there wasn't the sound of carpenters early in the morning, it wouldn't bother us that much. We are in the room very little.
I wouldn't think it can be any more of an eyesore than the Boardwalk was and has been under refurbishing. But I think guests would be less concerned if they were getting full facts from Disney on the rehab.
