Would you spend a day at DCA by yourself?

My husband has a conference and the hotel is right outside of DLR. I am toying with going with him as my bff lives in LA. She is working one of the conference days, so I'd have a day to kill... I'm wondering if DCA would be fun for a kidless mom.

In a heart beat!
YES! I love touring around the parks by myself. Get to do what I want, ride what I want, eat what I want, sit and people watch when I want. Fun, fun, fun!

Absolutely! My boyfriend and I went last week, and one of the night he was feeling ill, so I went back to the park that evening on my own and had a blast!! You will have a great time going solo :wizard:

WELL WORTH YOUR TIME!!! :thumbsup2 I always go to Disneyland with my family, and there are times where I go half days or full days where I just need my space and be by myself. I can go where I want, ride what I want, eat what I want, see the shows I want, etc. Its heaven! :cloud9: There is always something going on at Disneyland or DCA to keep you entertained. You will have a great time.

If, for some weird reason:confused:, my DD (4 yrs old) couldn't come and I had a chance to go to the park by myself....oh well...YES!!!:thumbsup2

single rider lines, coffee, treats, Oh my!!! stand back! It would be a blast:rotfl: Never mind the fact that I think you can do things without consulting with the family :scared1:

I hope you do it and ride all the "grown up" rides:drinking1 a zillion times and you will have small waits as you can do single rider lines all the way:woohoo::cloud9:

A few months back, I spent a couple days at BOTH parks by myself, and although I ended up severely missing my kids and husband by the end, I still had a really good time! It's so nice to walk around and do whatever YOU want without having to tote around strollers and buttloads of other kid crap. There is NO whining, excess exhaustion or feeling obligated to do whatever everyone else wants to do. You can just sit and enjoy the wonderful sights and sounds and have whatever you want to eat/drink, taking as long or little as you like.....and sleeping in at the hotel too! YES! It's seriously heaven, GO! lol

Yes! In fact, I almost went to DLR by myself this past Friday night...

if I lived closer I would be at Disneyland & DCA by myself all the time. But since I have to travel 9 hours, i ususally have others with me when I go.

:lmao: "Grown up rides"

Maybe not a zillion times or this will be your "grown up ride"

This was the same for me a couple of months ago. I rode the Little Mermaid ride twice and single rider lined every ride that had one.

Last month I went to DLR for 5 days, all on my own! :scared1:

I went to California for a business trip and the airfare is so expensive from Italy that I could not pass on the opportunity to visit DL, even alone.
However it's not completely unusual that I visit theme parks on my own, it's a very different experience but I enjoy it as well. I still prefere going with family or friends, but also alone can be magical.

OP, I been to every Disney resort around the world and I been to everyone of them by myself at least once! In fact, I've gone to WDW twice and ONLY been on my own, for an entire week! But I'm VERY independent! I do things on my own all the time. I NEED the solace sometimes to be honest with you. And yes, I have just a good time on my own then I have with my friends, girlfriend, family, etc.

I think for people who never gone alone, they worried they may get bored, feel a little awkward or just feel directionless, but once you do it, you will LOVE it! Base it around your own schedule, do only what you want to do, pace your time, ride your favorite ride 8 times straight, etc, it can become very fun!

Really, go and just have fun! If it just not your thing, you can always leave and hit the hotel bar early! Another thing I proudly do on my own...and often! ;)

I totally think you should do it! Doing stuff like that by yourself can be very liberating. Plus, you really get to be in charge and do whatever suits you! I've never done this at Disney, but I went to Ukraine last summer for a grad school fellowship all by myself, and it was awesome. I did miss my hubby and DD3, and would certainly have had more fun with them, but I still had a great time.
Plus, at Disney, you are never really alone! If you are anything like me, you end up making friends with whoever is standing in line with you, or CMs in random places, etc. That RSR single rider line is bound to yield some fun hour-long friendships!

I really enjoy doing the parks solo, at least on occasion. There's something to be said for not answering to anyone except yourself on what to do.

Ok, y'all have convinced me! I think I am going to do it. We are taking our daughter's to WDW in February, so I'll have plenty of kiddo disney time soon enough!

YES! Do it!!

While i LOVE taking my girls to Disneyland with me (and i would never go there without them, esp at this age). I do dream of being there by myself, and getting to experience things i wouldn't be able to while caring for 2 toddlers.

Glad you are going to do it! I did the same thing several years ago when DH had a conference. I did the Animation academy a couple of times in a row (DH hates it because he says he can't draw) and I got to eat whatever I wanted (corndog!!) and shop and had an amazing time.
