Would you recommend Toontown Morning Madness?

On our last day we plan on going to DCA in the morning, but DL opens two hours earlier. We will have the Toontown passes, but weren't planning on using them. We could do Toontown at 8:00 that morning and then head over to get in line for DCA. Would you recommend the Toontown Madness, or just keeping Toontown in my plan at 10:00 after Fantasyland on my EE day?

I would like to know the answer to this also. We have passes since I booked our upcoming trip through Costco. I've been an AP'er in the past, so we never did this. It's me, my DH and youngest daughter (6). So what's the deal? I'm debating offering them up to someone who wants 'em :)

I think it depends on how you like to interact with the characters. They do a small show in Toontown and then the characters disperse for autographs, but the lines can get long. You have to get there right when they open to get a good view of the show. If you are lucky, your family can be chosen to be part of the show.

I was a bit disappointed when we went and probably wouldn't do it again. You can see characters in Toontown all day long, so if you have other alternatives, you may want to consider them. JMHO.

We went and loved it! I was just thinking I wanted to do this again now that DGD is a bit older. The character meets and interaction at the beginning were worth it to me. We got a lot of time with them without feeling rushed. And without paying the character meal prices lol. The show is cute and it's all special because it's something you only see there. I say use your vouchers go see it :) You get a button too lol

I wasn't really impressed with it myself. We had less lines and waits when we went to TT on a random day than when we went for TTMM. Although before the show you can get some very good character time because there aren't as many people there and a few of the characters come out. The show was nothing great and my kids liked it but didn't comment about it any other time during the trip. We all thought it was just okay. I had paid more for a package just to get this and a few other perks and I would never pay more for it. We like TT -- just the show isn't worth it to me and meeting the characters can be done at other times with shorter lines. After the show the lines into the houses were outrageously long.

It's a tiny little parade, more of a promenade, a little show, and then you go to see the characters. When we went, DS was so cute he got us chosen as the family to be introduced during the show, though as soon as we said we were from Tacoma, the skies opened up and started just pouring Southern-style rain on us, LOL.

Unless we have another kid and they still have MTTMM when that kid is 3ish, we wouldn't do it again, because it just wasn't much of anything, really. And that's despite being "family of the day" there (which gets you a scroll to put on the fridge, LOL...not even any pix as there was no photopass person there).

When you do Toontown Madness, about how long does it take to see all of Toontown? We'll want to do most of it-maybe not Roger Rabbit b/c of motion sickness due to spinning. We may not need to greet all the characters b/c we will have done Goofy's and Minnie's character meals.

I really enjoyed my MTTMM experience, and I'm 23 :rotfl:

If you have the vouchers and you are going to use your Magic Morning on a Saturday when MTTMM is also offered, I would say that's the best way to go. Especially if you are interested in seeing the characters before the little parade and show starts, exploring all of the houses, etc. You have the time to get through Fantasyland in the extra hour and then be right at the entrance to Toontown when it opens for MTTMM and you have the opprotunity to see all of Mickey and his friends without the long lines and get your seats for the little show. I didnt do any of the rides in TT myself when I went, but I had a blast. If you watned t see what my morning was like, here are some links to my MTTMM experience in my Trip Report: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=30522777&postcount=1 - Just look for my September 2009 trip, Day 5!

Oh, and before I forget, if you don't end up using your MTTMM vouchers, check out our thread for members looking for vouchers to MTTMM. Donations from people who don't use their vouchers are wonderful and really make the day for those of us who want to go but didn't receive them through booking! Just a thought ;)

Of course I remain on the list and fear it is not going to happen for us. We are happy for all that do get tickets from the list.

If you are looking for a family in need, we are in need of tickets for 3 please. Just PM me.

I don't mean to be rude but there are other people on the list ahead of you, Im sure you didn't mean to cut ahead of them though. :goodvibes

Of course not to cut but we are going to have to start seeking another way to get tickets other than the list. It is just not moving. With our dates we still won't make it in time.

I am just trying to figure out a way to get tickets other than the list. I am grateful for the list and sure glad for it. I will be the first to give tickets if we were ever to get them. But it is also a persons choice to give their tickets to whoever they choose.

At this point, I sure hope someone picks us soon. All in all I think the reality is that we most likely are not going to be going to TTMM. I am not even going to tell the kids that it happens. We will be at rope drop each day and have a wonderful time regardless.

I sure do wish the Disney conference booking system would remember that the attendees bring the family and they will be in the park during the day.

We are lucky to have gotten a great room rate and for that we are saying that is good enough.

Of course I don't want to cut the queue, just hope we get picked up by a kind person.:lovestruc

we went yesterday (our second day in the parks)....cute show, but...
We went to goofys the first day ( non park day) and thus had already seen many of teh characters----goofy, miinie, pluto, chip, dale.
Before the show started we got to meet mickey, great interaction time. We also got to meet Donald after with no wait.
However the whole time I was ther I Kept thinking of what ride line I was missing out on...but I am a ride junkey.
My opinion......ok show, great character oportuity if you are not doing any meal or want to stalk t hem on mail st.
To go for the show in and of itself, not worth it

I am glad to hear most people saying it is skip-able. I had really wanted to take the kids, but after seeing that list on the other thread, I figured there was no hope. And I really can't afford to pay ebay prices. So I will just make sure we go on a non TTMM day at opening.

:lovestruc I am a long time lurker on this board. I rarely post, but wanted to share one of my favorite experiences from our last Aug 09 trip to Disneyland.

My 2 year old daughter was doing great going up to the fuzzy characters for pictures. She was a little scared at first, but did really well. We went to MTTMM one morning. We watched the show and had a great time. Afterwards we were walking around and saw Pluto. He didn't have a line yet. My DD went over and visited with him. He was hugging her and really spending a few quality moments. When she ran back to me her shoe came off. Pluto picked it up. She completely lost it. she started crying so hard she was shaking! Pluto laid down on the ground in a fetal position. It took me several minutes to calm her down. The line is starting to grow and Pluto would not stand up until my daughter felt better! Eventually she touched his nose and told him she loved him. All day she kept saying "I made Pluto sad!" I really found it special that Pluto made sure she felt better before he moved on!:cloud9:

We are going back to DL in Aug. DD now says "I am not going to make Pluto sad!"

That is a sweet story atomsmom <3!

I know it's not very real-world of me, but I think it kinda sucks that people sell their MTTMM for $ on ebay. I'd rather pass 'em on, pay-it-forward style.

Is it just Mickey-Minnie-Donald-Goofy-Pluto-Chip & Dale, or are there any more harder-to-find characters that make appearances?

When we went to TTMM it was horrible. It was very crowded and DD couldn't see the "show". It really didn't work out well for us and I would not do it again. Obviously others have a great time so I could have hit it at an off day but I would never pay for tickets to it. If you are going to pay do a character meal.

Interesting info...our travel documents arrived today. We go in June. I had seen the list in the other thread and wondered what this was like and what other shows were like for priority seating. What tickets we don't use (my kids are older and I am not sure what we will do when we are there) I will give to THE NEXT PERSON ON THE LIST! I think it is very rude to try and "cut" in the list line in a thread. Yes, a person can give to anyone they want but if there is a list and people are on it in front of you that is like cutting in a ride line.

Amazingly the person who said that has people going BEFORE THEM on the list in front of them. What about those people. Some have been on list since last December!
