Spend New Year's Eve in City Walk with Bret Michaels or at the Aloha 2011 party at the Royal Pacific?

Anyone done both or have an opinion?

I am a little confused about City Walk, and the crowds. How do they control access to all the NYE party venues/food? Does it get crowded? Can you not get into City Walk at all without the NYE ticket? What about the concert (this year Bret Michaels) as far as location/access?

This is the first year we will be in Orlando for the holiday so I appreciate any help.

What I don't get is that a lot of the City Walk clubs are participating in the NYE event, so do you need a NYE pass to get into the clubs that night, or are those with a special ticket allowed into reserved/controlled places? Just worried about the major crowds at a $100+ ticket event.

We will have three teenagers with us and the City Walk party is over 21's. As a result we are planning to be in one of the parks. They are both open till 1pm - not sure which one yet. Though I need to check into the party at Hard Rock some more.....

during the New Years, the general public does not have access to the clubs and much of citywalk. I believe only the movie theatres are open...

Thank you for this. This is the type of info I was working for. I was trying to wrap my head around how they differntiated between who had the NYE ticket with the gourmet food and who just had a regular party pass and how they restricted access to concert.

I have been to CityWalk for new year a few times, and will be going again this year (although I have no idea who Bret Michaels is )
Nearly all of CityWalk is closed off with big walls, so you can see inside at all. The concert area is inside these walls too, just near the Universal Store. There is great food laid out all along CityWalk for you to help yourself too and you can just stroll in and out of the clubs. It is a great night and I have never found it too crowded, apart from near the concert area when a big name is playing.

Bret Michaels was the lead singer of Poison. But he is probably more recently famous for winning the Celebrity Apprentice, his various health problems, and rumored affairs with Hannah Montana's mom, causing Billy Ray Cyrus to leave Mrs. Cyrus ...... Should be a great concert!
