Would you rather be intelligent, or wise?

I consider myself to be a fairly smart person. If IQ tests mean anything, I have taken several, and always test out at about 125, or so.

But I am not a very wise person , becasuse if I were I would have taken all my knowledge and made my life a whole lot better.

I have made some bad choices in my life, even though I was fully informed, and understood the information.

So, which would you rather be, intelligent, or wise?

I play D&D and a phrase I heard someone say once regarding the difference between a characters intelligence and wisdom stat was this :

Intelligence is knowing how to recognize a Dragon. You can probably tell what kind it is, where it lives, maybe how old it is by it's scales.

However, Wisdom is knowing that walking up to said Dragon and teasing it and poking it with a stick is probably a very , very BAD idea and thus, not doing so.


I choose wise.

I've taken my spiritual gifts test many times and always rate highest in Wisdom AND Knowledge so luckily I don't have to choose. I'll keep both thank you very much.

I'd rather be wise. Intelligence can get you the best job, but being wise can gain you the better life. (That is more dealing with common sense, common sense can get you a lot and no common sense, well, sometimes can't get you very far)

I think our intelligence about learning from our experiences and growing from them makes us wise.

I think you need a base of intelligence to build wisdom, though the opposite is certainly not true.

ITA agree. I also think that in general people who think they are wise - are most certainly not. I would like to be intelligent - whether I am wise is not really a call I can make, but rather something that may be seen by others in any given situation.
