Do you guys think it's worth it if I love the characters and photos are their photos professional enough also

Do they have photographers around of Castaway Cay?

If I do he parasailing excursion are there photo people?

Are there plenty of photo opportunities on the ship outside of characters?

Thanks my favorite people

I can answer one of your questions - no photographer on the parasailing excursion. You're in the boat with other people so you may be able to ask someone to take photos for you. I wore a GoPro on my head (went parasailing with my son) and I was the only one on our boat with a camera.

Thanks for the replies!

I'm leannnnning towards it but still would appreictae more answers :)

I was considering it for our last cruise - but when I found out that all the pics come with the themed borders I opted not to. Not my style, and I just prefer plain old pics to frame and hang up.

Me, personally, no. But we've cruised so often that we don't even get pictures taken much anymore.

i can't imagine a scenario in which i would ever buy the photo package. I do look through the photos, but i don't find the quality of them composition wise to be worth the cost. if we luck into a good shot or two, we consider buying those.

If you aren't planning on anymore cruise you should go for it! I suspect you would regret if you decided not to

For me its a Yes!, my daughter is 15yo, but for her its all about the characters, we end up with more than 200 hundred pictures on our 7 nights cruise.

While it's not my first or only cruise... I went ahead and "sucked it up" and ordered bc it's my baby's first, and our first as a "complete" family (we have 2 DDs and will not be having anymore), so like the PP above me, I hope to get LOTS of pics with characters and the family, and maybe a Christmas card pic out of it. So I say, if you have the money and it won't break the bank, GO FOR IT! Take lots, don't be embarrassed to stand in every line possible. Get the Castaway Cay pics with the boat in the background, flag down all the photogs at dinner, get some in the water at CC (altho I only saw them out first thing)... take advantage and you could walk away with lots of pics.

I did only buy the CD though, I don't need a print out of every single pic. That's just crazy sauce. Haha.

Depends on how many pictures they have. If the package is cheaper than buying individual.... yes!

Yes I would, and have. But we as a family really enjoy taking pictures. One year we used the pictures from our Merrrytime cruise as Christmas cards they came out great. I also use the pictures to make photo books with them as well. You have many opportunities for pictures and you can even change outfits throughout the day just to switch things up. My favorite pictures are the candid ones taken on CC of my DS enjoying the sand. Happy planning.

We are a family of 3, including a 2 year old and I have 3 cruises, my wife, 2, my son 1. Two more are booked. For us, the answer is no. Especially with his age. We won't spend the time waiting in lines. IF we catch a short line, it is more about the interaction with the character which I prefer video for. If we do a formal night (which you don't really have on a 3 day cruise) they do more formalized sittings. If we opt to do one of those we would rather just buy the 1 or 2 photos and save the cost. Photographers are not out wandering around enough to guarentee that you'll have pictures of you lounging by the pool, playing trivia, etc. Especially with a 3 day cruise, one day you will presumably in Nassau and the other at Castaway. I'd rather take a photo on my own than rely on someone who may or may not be there.

I thought about it, until I saw the prices. We will be on a 4 day cruise and it's not worth it to us. We can take our own pictures for free. Not professional quality, but we would rather spend that kind of money on excursions. JMHO. ;)

Just off a 3 night Dream cruise yesterday, and we did (purchase the CD) and would do so again. This was our 3rd DCL cruise but first time doing the photo package. Here's why I did..

-We have 3 kids and it made for a much more enjoyable time for me not having to be the one responsible for capturing all the photos. I was able to take in the character interactions with my kids much more this cruise!
-It was my youngest's first DCL cruise.
-We see as many characters as possible with our 3 and come away with a lot of pictures. We ended up 111 photos from this 3 night cruise.
-Lastly, I didn't have to waste time at a crowded Shutters on the last night agonizing over what photos to pick, because I loved so many. ;) I never even opened our folder since I knew I was getting them all digitally.

We bought the photo package on our cruise and it was not worth it. It was a 5 night cruise and our cruise group had several issues with shutters. Photopass at WDW was fabulous but next time we will just buy the few pictures we like.
