Would you pay extra??? Read on.....

What I pay for tickets is enough, while I find value in them I wouldn't pay extra on top of that for any attraction.

i agree with most i wouldn't pay extra i don't think.

One of the things i really like about going to disney is that you know how much it is going to cost before get there. Unless you want to add an evening cruise or something special.

One of the things i dislike about our local parks is that there are always a few hidden costs besides admission. Like they will charge extra to ride the train or something like that.

When my friend was going for the 1st time she thought the hoppers were so high but i said if you do the math on what that is for each person per day it isn't mcuh more than other places and it will cover everything in the park. She kept asking me if they charged extra for the train? the shows? the transportation? i just kept saying NO! Just your food!

If admission was cheaper...like way cheaper....and they charged for certain things, I would pay $10.00 per person to see Wishes.....that display just makes me cry like a baby!!! It kind of reminds me why we are all there...cause deep down inside we are all a kid at heart!!! (Well at least I am...lol)

If admission was the same price it is now...and wishes wasn't included I wouldn't.......wait who am I kidding, yes I would pay extra to see it then too!!!

I wouldn't pay extra for any of it, and while I think the admission prices now are okay, most people I know already think it's too much and won't go for more than three days! They also stay off-site because of the on-site prices. We stay on-site and go to the parks for 6 days (with a day off and two travels), and have to sacrifice yearly vacations to do that.........we only get to go every other year to Disney, anywhere else in America we could do yearly!

I'm astonished that so many say enough is enough with park admission with adding anymore charges. Although, I'm not totally suprised at the answers. Thanks for all who shared their opinion.

I especially liked wdwoldtimer answer.

I do remember the alpha tickets, too. A flat admission is a lot more fair. I remember when companies subsidized Disney coupon ride books for their employees. Also, I remember our company had the greatest coupon books because we had more of the prime coupon tickets which I believe was the "E" ticket.

I guess I'll just keep on buying CDs from the Voices of Liberty and showing my loyality to them in that way.

There are plenty of things that people can (and do!) pay extra for. The Segway ride at Epcot is one of them that comes to mind.

Personally, I think that putting the bulk of the theme park product into one fixed price is smart -- not to mention it's the way that all theme parks I have visited since the end of the ticketed ride system went away at Disney do things.

I guess the question is what do you consider an "extra". Tours are no-brainers as "extras", as are special-access things like IllumiNations cruises. I would not like to see an actual attraction in the park that has an additional charge. At my last visit, Six Flags near Atlanta had a bungee-swing thing in it that was an additional charge, and I felt that it was an actual attraction (because it was a ride), so charging extra for it was kind of tacky. But people sure were lining up to do it, and as long as people will pay, that sort of thing will happen.

Personally, all rides and shows like the fireworks should be included in the base price. Additional stuff (like arcade games or games of chance where you win a stuffed animal) being an additional charge make sense to me... especially since the ring-toss or whatever can provide you something tangible that you walk away with.

For a complete days entertainment WDW prices seem to be in line with the market. I would not pay for anything extra. Especially the arcade type areas, we can do that @ the local fair. We have however spent over our buget on things like pictures. DH and I were stopped by a street photogragher in epcot and we took one of the best pictures since our wedding 10 years before. Of course we took the picture and extras for family as well as a Disney frame. A few days later the same thing happened coming off Buzz Lightyear. We bought that one too. For people that go infrequently I think more money is spent on these types of items. :)

If I had to pay, I would pick Carousel of Progress......just to keep it going. If it meant that they would shut it down, versus charging a dollar or 2 for it to stay open, I definately would pay.

It would depend. If it were something that I am use to doing for free, then no. but if it were something like being able to see Aerosmith put on a show in front of the RNR, and you had to buy a ticket, then yes I would. :)

Well, I don't see how they could charge extra for Wishes or Illuminations, unless they would only take place during "special ticket event" nights. And no, I would not pay for them on a regular basis...but on intermittent trips, maybe. I don't do "E" nights.

I do pay for MVMCP, not for the rides so much, as the special shows. I also do the CP Pkg, but it is just about a break even for the cost of a full dinner, so I really don't consider it an "extra" charge, just a convenience.

Special "name brand" events, like a concert, I may pay extra for, depending on if the event was of interest to me.

I can only think of a few things that I would pay extra for, and none of these are offered now to the general public. I have often thought that it would be great to be able to pay for a dessert buffet and reserved seating to watch illuminations. Currently this is only offered to large parties. I think that is preplated though. I would love it if they would do something like they do at DL for fantasmic. I would also pay extra for a special meal, combined with only those with the package viewing Osborne lights. I can't really think of anything else right now, but it would have to include more than just the show or attraction.

I wouldn't pay extra INSIDE the parks for any special shows, etc. However, I have no problem paying for special things OUTSIDE the parks (i.e., the kids' pirate adventure or rental of mouse boats).

Justification: When I'm inside the parks, I've already paid for my ticket, which should cover all my entertainment.
