Call me silly - but the fact is I would like a cake for my birthday. We will be in Disney and I want a cake.
LOL.
My DH is a great guy - but this stuff is 100, no 1000% NOT his forte. He just doesn't think this stuff is a huge deal, it slips off his radar after having it mentioned, like five seconds later, and to a degree I can understand - this is not something everyone feels important.
The only holiday he really 'does' well is Christmas (after years of working with him on this. LOL)
On my Birthday we are going to Tusker House for Breakfast at 8:05 a.m., then Cali Grill for dinner.
I am swaying towards having birthday cake at that early - unGodly hour for cake at breakie because my 5-year-old will be there and we are doing CG alone. (And hey, it is my birthday AND Disney - so cake is allowed at every meal!!) We are doing CS for lunch.
I also KNOW she will notice if I don't have cake. She was quite perturbed (without any prompting from me) at Valentine's Day when she and Daddy got cards, but Daddy somehow missed getting one for me. Oooops!
I would do it without much guilt if I were solely doing it for "Her", but really I DO want a cake. LOL! Plus, I am the only one of us so lucky that my birthday is in October which is the month we want to go - so in reality I AM already too blessed to be stressed about this and feel maybe a little greedy.
It would mean more if DH did do it, but I don't want to be disappointed if he doesn't - or hear my DD go on about it... maybe she won't, she might be distracted considering where we are. It doesn't have to be something fabulous - although that would be great since I make specialty cakes for friends and family (do you see a running theme about how he and I differ in this aspect? LOL) The fact that I make these cakes, also alerts to DD about when cake is 'needed.'
So, should I go ahead and order one - or not so subtly make sure the CAKE HOTLINE is pointedly handed to him... thing is I hate asking him/reminding him - makes me feel foolish and small.
But, it doesn't stop the fact that I would really like one or that I think birthday celebrations are important (even at my young
age.)
So, would you order your own cake and be done with it?
