The LOW morale around here at work is just pathetic...tension, annoyance, anger...it's so fun. lol...and it's because of how our boss treats us and his general personality...we have a consultant who works from home, comes in like twice every 2 mths. SHe was here last week and said to me "WHy is everyone in such a bad mood? Or is that just how it is now?" YOU GOT IT.
MANY people were not going to the holiday party (I am, just in an attempt to make my time here SEMIpleasant)...and he was mad about that and basically grilling people about why they weren't going...it's like a party under duress! FUN!
THen someone refused to do the Christmas tree and menorah (she did it for years and then last year someone else did it) She said ask the person who did it last year...boss did and she wouldn't do it, she was too busy. So at staff meeting he says "I don't understand why no one wants to do the tree. Is that a consensus? You don't want a tree or menorah?" But in a way that he would clearly be angry if we didn't want one...so stupid me, trying to placate him and make peace says "I'll do it next year, but this year I am not even doing one at home..." (my mom passed away in July, I just don't have the "spirit" this year) and he cuts me off with "I don't really CARE about that." I should have really said "Well, thanks for your honesty...and if you don't care about THAT, then why should I care about the tree here?" But I didn't. Thankfully 2 co-workers did volunteer.
