Would you give up Tusker House Breakfast for HoB Gospel Brunch?

So, I just found out I can get a table for HoB Gospel Brunch during our trip. We have a TH ADR that morning that I'd need to give up, though. Has anyone seen the show at HoB? Eaten the food? I'm not concerned about giving up the characters at TH, because my 6yo will be the only one who cares, and we are taking her to CRT a different day. Do you think the HoB show is worth it???

I'd stick with TH. Since its in the park you won't lose valuable park time after you eat.

However, Are you fans of gospel music? If so, you may find this a good take.

I have done both and if the food is still the same at HOB, I would take HOB. The music and food was great.

I would also choose HOB. I enjoy the Tusker breakfast but HOB gospel brunch is much better.

are you on a dining plan? If so, HOB is not covered in 2011 (possible it will be on the plans in 2012)

Yes we are, but we're going to have to pay OOP for one meal, because we threw a signature dining in the mix. So, if we don't go to TH, we could count the HoB as our OOP, and use the TH credit to cover a different meal. You can use DDP for RR, right?

Thanks for the rest of the responses so far! I read a couple reviews of the gospel brunch, and some said it was rushed and/or the food got cold because they spent so much time standing and clapping (per the singing group's instructions) :rotfl: It isn't annoying, is it?

I'll start this with the disclaimer that I have not eaten at either place yet.

My feeling is that HoB is a chain and you can find it in other cities. There is only one Tusker House, so I would stick with the thing you can only get at Disney.

I haven't been to TH. We're going the first week in December. But we did do the Gospel Brunch a few years ago and had a great time. The entertainment was wonderful, and the brunch was one of the best buffet spreads I've ever enjoyed. I wouldn't hesitate to go back, but that's usually a travel day for us.

No pun intended, but the brunch at HoB will eat your entire morning. I'd look at whether you really want to give up prime touring time at AK for the meal in DTD, as well as considerations about the food itself.

Agreed!

We loved TH. The place is cool and it has the biggest selection of food of any of the character breakfasts we've done. The characters here are also different than she will see at CRT. I've never done the gospel brunch but I do know that all House of Blues' across the country have the gospel brunch so if you live near a HOB, you could catch it there. There is one not far from us so because of this, I won't do it at Disney. I'd rather stick to stuff I can only do at WDW when I'm there :thumbsup2

Just another thought... were you planning on spending that day at AK? To go from DTD to AK is a long haul, even if you have a car. Our TH ADR was at 8am when AK opened at 9am, and it worked out well - we were in line for the safari by 9:05am and got a lot done before the crowds came in since we were already in the park.
