Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm thinking the f bomb, but instead of "ing" at the end, it's "in" at the end.

Can I buy a vowel?

I don't get it. :confused3 I'll have to vote for I don't know what the asteriks mean.

Not at all. It's a tasteless pun, but not offensive to me.

The funny thing is, if any children actually know what that means you really aren't protecting the innocent by using astericks. If they don't know, it would just go over their heads.

And that's how I feel about what he said. If you don't know what it means, it would fly right over your head (and you'd just think it was a dorky play on his name). If you know what it means, it's crude and pretty tasteless, but I don't think it's that offensive.

Papa D -

A few years ago Ricky Martin did an interview where he mentioned the above and my opinion of him completely changed. I just don't see why a celebrity would ever reference this as something they do in their private life. I don't know what magazine it was in, but i'm sure someone could google that as well if they are interested.

Did you see that the sportscaster's last name was Golden?

I got a little help from a friend! I did understand the name, but did not understand the meaning.

Thanks!

Another one that has no idea what the asteriks mean.

And if they did, they'd be grossed out by it, not traumatized by it. Let's keep a little perspective here!

It is in perspective. Who said anything about being traumatized? I just said I found it offensive for a newscast. And I don't want to be the one to expose this to kids.

For a sportscaster to say it...extremely inappropriate. For those of you that didnt get it, or that still dont understand it, keep it that way. Yes it was a pun, one that would make people cringe, not laugh. Yuck.

OK I am :rotfl: here. I read this last night and I'm just now getting all the context that goes along with it. I voted not offended, btw. At first I thought the coach said it. When I came back this morning I realized it was the anchor so then I was a little more appauled. But then I realized what the coach's name is and while I think it's wildly inappropriate, it's hysterical. I'm guessing that anyone who knows what it is won't be offended. And anyone who doesn't know what it means wouldn't even get the joke in the first place.

I doubt any kid watching it is going to ask "what's a ****** shower?" I think it would go right over thier head.

While I don't find it particularly amusing, I don't find it offensive either.

Offensive? Not really. Juvenile and immature..probably. But then again, my perception is that sportcasters are not necessarily the classiest guys on the planet...I think they tend to be a bit "earthy".

I may be one of the few but when I read it I started to chuckle. I thought it was kind of funny. Life is to short to let things like this bother you.
