Would you eat at CP just for the food?

I have a breakfast reservation. This place seems to get such good reviews but my 5 year old son isnt into Pooh and am just wondering if any of you who love CP would go just for the buffet or do you go more for the characters?

I go to CP for the food, although it's a nice bonus seeing the characters. I have eaten at all three, although I liked lunch the best. Breakfast was really good, too.

The breakfast buffet is pretty good. The restaurant itself is beautiful. But it's very noisy and crowded. If it weren't for the characters we wouldn't eat there. One other consideration is that if you have an early reservation you are allowed to enter MK before opening. That's fun.

Honestly, I would never go to any buffet for the food and the CP is not exception. The food is tolerable for us for the character interaction and getting into the parks early. I freely admit though that we do not care for buffets at all so take my opinion in that context.

We like the food. But, we consider it an added bonus to the characters. I will add, even if your son isn't particularly into the characters, meeting them in person is very different from enjoying them on TV, in books etc... My boys haven't been into Pooh for years, but since DD always requests this meal so she can see Piglet, they end up going every trip and really enjoy meeting the characters. (Shhh! Don't tell their friends.) There is also a parade around the room with the characters that he may enjoy. Also, DD always brings a stuffed animal with her and they usually make a big deal about it. Piglet was thrilled (and embarrassed to see a stuffed animal of himself and Tigger pretended to eat Darby! So, if you have something small he can bring, it should enhance your experience.:goodvibes

I ate lunch at CP (2 adults) for the food. It was very tasty.
The characters were a bonus. I was very pleased that they stopped at a table with only adu.ts.

I dislike most buffets but I actually like the food at CP for lunch and dinner. They have a large variety of salad and veggie dishes which I really enjoy for a change from regular WDW dining.

We love the food and sometimes I wish the characters weren't there :goodvibes!

We went for lunch and really enjoyed the food. I'm not sure if we'd go without the characters though. I considered it this trip and the kids said they would rather go somewhere new. My kids are not too picky with food. They'll eat about anything, so it's all about atmosphere for them. For food, I would go back characters or not. Lunch was very tastey and had lots of good desserts.

We go to CP just for the food. We don't care about the characters. Pooh's Puffed French Toast is worth it.

Add my family to your small list. We avoid all buffets.

My DH and I went there for our honeymoon strictly for the food and to get into MK early. The puffed french toast is awesome, as is the vegetable egg fritatta. We left before the characters even came over to our table. We had an 8:05 ADR and were at the tomorrowland rope 10 minutes before rope drop. We also got pics of main stree and the castle with noone else in the photos. It was great!

We have eaten breakfast and dinner at CP. Breakfast was just ok, nothing spectacular and there is no way I would go back for dinner. So we absolutely would not go to CP just for the food. If you are looking for character interaction, Ohanas was great. The food was very good. My husband was dragged to disney and still talks about how good the food was at Ohanas. It was served family style, which is so much more relaxing.

First went for the characters, returned for the food, (breakfast.)

We don't like buffets but one DD wanted to dine with the Pooh characters. We took a chance and discovered we like the breakfast buffet.

I wouldn't go there for anything but breakfast. We were not impressed with lunch or dinner and won't go back

No, we would not go for the food. It is very much a middle of the road breakfast buffet in my opinion. It's not bad but it's not great and it was easily forgotten by both my kids and my DH. They only recall it if I remind them that it was the one with Pooh.

Our reservation is at 10 so it would be a late breakfast for us. I think ill keep it and wait til we get there. we will have a couple other buffets before this reservation so i will see how those go. ive never been impressed with any buffet even golden corral breakfast i thought was nasty. and i didnt know breakfast could be that bad. :rotfl:

We have reservations for Boma (dinner) and Chef Mickey (breakfast) and Beirgarten (dinner) i do really want to try these. Crystal Palace isnt til later in the week so guess ill see how the rest goes ;)

Thanks so much for all the replies!!!!

The food was very good and it was just me & my DH. we liked getting the pictures with the characters, as it was fun, but the food was good too and I would go just for the food.

For dinner, no way would I eat there again

For breakfast, yes I would go but only if I could get the 8:05 am seating
