Would you do this? ('50s Prime Time)?

DH and I decided to get the basic DDP for our trip. We are going for 10 nights. We will be going to DHS twice. One of the days, we will eat lunch at Pizza Planet (my kids love it there and they LOVE Toy Story).

I have been wanting to go to the '50s Prime Time Cafe for a while now, mainly for the experience. For our second lunch at DHS, we are thinking about going there and just paying OOP. It seems cheap enough (we would likely get sandwiches anyway, and the most expensive entree is $16.99). Then, instead of getting dessert there and paying OOP for it, we could use a snack credit and get something at Starring Rolls, if we still feel like having dessert. I thought this would be a nice place for my kids to eat as well, and the kids' menu is certainly cheap enough. No problem with having an extra CS credit...we would use it on breakfast one morning. Would you do this if you were me?

Since some folks may be wondering...we're not going there for dinner because there are just too many resort restaurants we want to go to, so we decided to do those for our dinners since it won't interfere with midday park time, which would happen if we went for lunch. So dinner is not an option. Is the experience at Prime Time as nice for lunch? Do they still tease you if you don't finish your vegetable, for example?

We are doing the exact same thing next trip. We are actually doing several OOP meals because we are doing a split stay and 3 nights of our stay will be a room only ressie so no DDP.
I am chosing to pay for 50's OOP because it is one of our cheaper TS. We ate there in March and I am even thinking of DS and I ordering the onion rings and then splitting the stacked sandwich because it was huge. DH will get his own meal and so will DD and I figure it will probably cost us about $50 or so.
I don't think it matters if you go for lunch or dinner about getting the teasing. We saw some servers that were into it and others that weren't. I really like having lunch at 50's because there just aren't too many great CS places at DHS.
Have a great time!

OK, then we will do this! Your idea of sharing the onion rings and the sandwich is very good, if the sandwich is that huge. Maybe DH and I will do the same thing. How are the portions for the other dishes? Are they so big that we should just share one if there's something we both want?

It was just DS and I that went in March. I had the pot roast which was an ample portion but not big enough to share. But his sandwich was plenty big to share. We were so full we got milkshakes to go for our dessert credits.

Hope this helps.
