So Airtran would cost us $50 less (one way) total for the 4 of us - and that's including baggage fees.

Plus, Airtran has much better flight times than SW for the morning. Is Airtran notorious for changing flight times though?

We love SW though and could really use some advice...

UPDATE
Got Airtran for $79/pp - saved $72 if I were to go with SW - including seat purchases and better flight time! :cool1:

Now pray that they don't change our flights!!

Did you include the cost of seats with AirTran? If you did, I would go AirTran. They are a great airline. If, by chance, the flight times change, they will allow you to cancel for a full refund.

Sure, I would pocket the $50 and fly Airtran. Heck, I would save even more on baggage fees and carry-on bags like we did last December.

Oh crap no I didn't. Now I really have some thinking to do. Now with seats it's only a $26 difference.

I would and did for the first time this year. We are using them in Nov and Dec. They were cheaper, and had better times, even with checked baggage and seat assignments. Looking forward to avoiding the cattle call and wondering if there will be 4 seats together when we board with SW. Now, I happily paid $6 per seat to get an actual seat rather than $10 for a chance at a better boarding position. Would you have paid the $10 for EBCI with SW anyway? If so, you are saving an extra $4 per seat. I have kept a close eye on my flights. The times did change, by a whopping 5 whole minutes. I say, give it a shot. That is $200 (or $152 if you pay for seats and wouldn't do EBCI with SW) that you can spend elsewhere on your trip. Pretty good chunk of change to me.

Sorry....I thought you meant per ticket. I would still do it. Is it $50 each way? Still a meal is the way I look at it.

Absolutely. Better airline, better service, lower price, sounds good to me.

No I wouldn't do EBCI with Southwest. I never did before and have always gotten A passes. Also, my kids are 8 and 9 so it's not the end of the world if we don't sit together - or my dh could sit with one and i could sit with the other. Either way not a big deal.

It's actually now a $26 difference (one way) if I buy seats on AT.

I just can't believe SW's fares are so high! :headache:
