Hi
Me and my 6yr old dd are off on 29th Nov for 3 nights we are booked at Santa Fe as this was the cheapest option but after reading reports about SL at xmas I'm thinking should I try and change hotel.

What are you thoughts.

Thanks

If you can, definitely! We stayed in Sequoia earlier this year and loved it! They were doing renovations back then too, so it will even better now!

It's also fab in the cold as its got a wintery theme and a lovely log fire - I highly recommend it :)

If you can afford it, go for it. I loved the SL over Halloween and expect xmas is even more fab

Now I want to upgrade! Im going in 2 days would it be too late. I got the Cheyenne for 249 for 2 nights and the SL is 300 would I just need to pay for £51 difference?

xx

you can always go visit the Sequoia Lodge for a meal and a drink in the bar. I usually stay at the Santa Fe, but rarely eat or spend any time there in the evenings - we go eat in the Village, or one of the other hotels. We went to the Beavers Creek tavern at the SL last time, the food was great, very reasonably priced, and the bar area is lovely :).

i think you'd have to call them today to upgrade - as from the T&Cs they have to have received your alteration request to your booking at least 2 days before you check in :confused3.

In 2006, we stayed over Christmas at SL - had visions of sitting by the fire in the Redwood bar after the parks but found we didn't have time anyway - nor did we have time to enjoy the pool - so much going on at Xmas. Also we stayed in one of the lodges - not attached to the main building furthest away from the parks and we felt 'out of it' a bit.

Last year we went back again over Christmas and stayed at the Sante Fe and actually really enjoyed it - we stayed in a room right by the canal and nearest the park - the walk was hardly further than our SL room.

We are going back to SL in March but would definitely stay at SF again (we have stayed there twice now) - the bar is nice at SL and we stopped off for a drink last year but there is usually a live act in SF's bar.

Yea ive got to the conclusion that im not going to upgrade now because i can spend the money on something else in the park! xx
