Would you completely change your hotel if you couldn't get the AAA discount?

Okay, I am a slow learner here. I already booked Poly LVC for our upcoming June vacation. Thinking that I couldn't use AAA because we don't use their insurance (car, life, etc.), I didn't even ask about that discount. Now I learn that you can use AAA for getting locked out of your car for a very reasonable rate that I would be willing to pay for that help AND being elgible for a discount. BUT I called Disney and they said my room was not one that qualified for the AAA discount. SOOOO, my question is....should we completely change our hotel (or dates?) so that we can get the discount? I am assuming it is 10% which would be a nice chunk of change for our stay at the Poly. Do you think all the AAA discounts are taken by now for June?

Instead of changing resorts, would you consider changing the level you are staying at? You might still be able to get the discount but not at concierge level. It's not that the discounts are removed due to a season, it's that there are only so many rooms each resort alots for AAA discount, once they're booked that's it. We haven't changed resorts, but we have change room views etc. to get the discount. I don't know if you've contacted an actual AAA TA yet, that might be the best thing to do.

At deluxe hotels it is actually 15%. I got a quote from CRO that an MK view at the Poly (not concierge level) with AAA is $3,146.08 and a GV room (again, no concierge) for $2,275.08. That's for 8 nights at the end of august. Call back and talk with Disney again and see if they can find you a room at the Poly with AAA that you would be happy with. OR better yet, stop by your local AAA office and ask their travel team to put together a package for you and see if they can come up with something at a discount that you like better. There is no harm in calling and looking. . .
