Would you complain?

After years of thinking about it, we finally decided to buy into DVC back in November 2007. We rang our sales person (who we first went round the show home with back in 1999) and said "yes please". Since then despite many phone calls, emails and faxes to him we have still not got our points.

I sent another email to him yesterday and have not received a reply from him. This is so annoying. We are now well withing the 11 month period for what would be our first trip home to AKL and we still can't book anything.

What would you do? I feel as though I should complain about this time period. It does not give us much confidence in the Disney Vacation Club booking system it they can't even sell points to people!!!

boy - sounds like he lost the stuff.

call this number and ask for a new guide or an explanation as to why this is taking so long.

Something certainly doesn't sound right but a little more info would be helpful. Exactly where have you left things with him? What is the content of the messages / faxes / emails?

Your problem might have to do with where you live.

If DVC is not licensed to sell timeshares where you live, your guide can't help you. I don't think they can even talk to you on the phone. If that's the case, you'll have to either buy resale, or buy on your next trip to WDW or DL.

If you post where you live, there is probably someone here in the same locale who can tell you whether DVC is licensed there.

We bought when we were down in Disney and they told us we could make reservations within 24 hours :confused3 I would call....

You actually signed the contract and sent the funds several months ago? I would definitely get on the phone with member services and ask for a supervisor. Once you get the whole point situation worked out...then call and request a new guide.

Thanks for your replies and thoughts. We do live in Malta so they can't deal with us, but our daughter, who will also be on the deeds lives in the UK so they can talk to her.

We have not signed any contracts as we have not recieved any

In my last email to him I have sent copies of all previous emails and a date line so he can see exactly what and when things where sent.

I will give him a couple more days, just incase he is having a couple of days away from the office and then I will contact the numbers provided.

Thanks everyone.

If they can not deal with you because you live in Malta, I would not expect your guide to answer an email from you. Even though your Daughter lives in the UK, if you are to be on the deed, they may not be able to deal with you, even through your daughter.

We had the same problem with our original guide. We were all set to buy and never got any return phone calls! I was so angry and annoyed that we just dropped the whole idea.

(I actually found someone here on the Boards who had similar problems with the same guy.)

Anyway, when we were ready to try it again, I specifically told them that I did NOT want to meet with that particular guide. It was no problem at all...we were assigned someone else and purchased our membership that afternoon!

I totally agree

Chuck is right. If they aren't allowed to sell in Malta, then the ONLY way you can buy is either when you are actually at Disney World, or through resale. I would probably plan this next trip through CRO and buy when you are there.
