Hi all you breakfast buffet experts.

We are doing one breakfast buffet during our August trip.

So, we're looking at menus and CP only lists general info, not specifics. CMs has lots of things we want to have - Mickey waffles, pancakes, french toast, cheese blintzes, corned beef hash, donuts! Can anyone tell me specifics for Crystal Palace breakfast. Specifically we NEED Mickey waffles, corned beef hash and french toast, but we want variety of other stuff, too. We've done Cape May Cafe and 1900 Park Faire and loved them, but we're thinking of something different this time. We don't want to do Tusker House either since we don't plan on a lot of time at AK. The character interaction isn't the most important thing, but we definitely want a breakfast buffet.

Thanks in advance!

Hmmmm. I honestly cannot rememer specifics. I am pretty sure they had the waffles when I was there. Not sure on some of the others on your list since I don't eat any of those things.

What CP has that I LOVE is a made to order omlettes and pancakes. You can get chocolate chip pancakes and I LOVE them.:goodvibes

Love Boma's b-fast buffet. They have Mickey waffles, french toast (cinnamon and very thick!), pancakes, lots of pastries but not sure that there are doughnuts, fresh fruit, carved meats (usually ham and roast beef), bacon, sausage, eggs, cheese omlettes, scrambled eggs, cereals, oatmeal, some African special dishes, and a wonderful juice mixture. I really enjoy it as well as my DH and two children (7 and 5). It is their favorite and we have been to Chef Mickey's several times. We like Chef Mickey's for the atmosphere but it doesn't compare to the quality of food at Boma's. Even if you don't want to go to AK the resort is nice to venture through. Lots of animal viewing areas.

Oh yeah! I forgot about Boma! I have heard wonderful things about it, and I would love to do some animal viewing while we're there. Do you know if they have some sort of corned beef hash there? I think that's the only thing that we want that you didn't mention!

Thanks so much for reminding me about Boma.

We just got back from our trip and went to both CM and CP for breakfast. Both places had Mickey waffles, donuts (though CP was donut holes and CM was full size donuts), corned beef hash, and pancakes. I don't remember seeing french toast in either location. Ooh, wait a minute, CP had puffed french toast on the kid' buffet that was awesome! (It reminded me of cinnamon sugar fried dough.) We also went to Tusker House for breakfast and I didn't enjoy that one as much for some reason although the Monkey Juice they serve there is really good. If I had to pick a favorite I'd probably go with CP.

We did both last trip. Both had the foods you listed in your query.

Our kids liked CM better because there were more yummy pastries and the character interaction was better.

DBF thought the food was comparable at both, but if forced to choose, CP wins due to the omelettes made to order.

ME--CP hands down. It was less crazy in terms of kids running around, and not quite so noisy as CM. But the MOST IMPORTANT reason I like CP better is the puffed french toast. It is to die for and just like the homemade donuts my Dad used to make on Sunday mornings.

Great charactert interaction at both, but I agree with my kids that CM wins byu a nose.

Service was great at both.

Having been to both, there is no comparrison. The food at CP is marginal at best, and the breakfast at CM is great. The only reason to go to CP over CM would be a need to see Pooh & Friends.

We usually do both CP & CM brkfsts on our trips - they are two of our favorites. IMO, you can't go wrong with either choice. The food is basically the same at both places, however CP has puffed french toast!!

You can find a scazillion buffet pics of CP in my January thread and of CM in my March thread.

We've done both several times and prefer CP. I like the atmosphere of the glass building near the castle so much better than the loud echos inside the CR.

Also, it felt more spread-out. And the kids seemed better behaved -- in all our CM photos there's extra kids there -- they were getting up from their table and coming to ours whenever a character came by. The kids and crowds were better controlled at CP.

To me, the food is pretty comparable. But getting a freshly made omelet tips the scales in my book.:)

We're only doing one character buffet for our upcoming trip, and we chose CP.:)

I'm going to assume that your CM is Chef Mickey's. Cape May also has a character breakfast. We have eaten at Cape May several times and it has been very good each time.

I have only had lunch or dinner at CP and only dinner at Chef Mickey's.

Thank you! I went through your reports with a fine tooth comb, your buffet pics are perfect and are really helping me share the decision with the family. Right now, they are leaning towards Chef Mickey's, but we're going to keep looking. I also liked looking through your Boma breakfast pics, and although it looks great, we think we'll save that for our Feb '10 trip.

Thanks again for taking the time to share all those pics. Your dining reports are awesome.

Good point, yes I meant Chef Mickey's. We love Cape May Cafe, it's probably our favorite buffet - we've been going since it was Admiral Goofy's. We were there in January for breakfast and we did Chef Mickey's for dinner. This trip I think we'll do Chef Mickey's breakfast and Cape May dinner!

Crystal palace for breakfast or lunch?

I know its a good place-- i just dont know about getting my family up and out for an early ADR-- how would the last reservation for breakfast go over?
or just take a later one for an early lunch?
