i like how close to mk wild. is but the kids love the sb pool, if you had 2 kids what villa is best? :goodvibes

VWL is our "home". DS13 wants to return to WL in Aug. I also want to stay someplace new. So we have plans for 8nights VWL and 6nights BCV

We own at both. We like both for different reasons. SAB for my husband and son. I like the feel of the WL and the villas because I love Yellowstone.
You can walk to Epcot and Disney Studios from BCV and you can ride a boat to MK from VWL.

I'd say that it would depend on the ages of the kids. If you will spend a lot of time at MK, then VWL would be best. If you will spend a lot of time at Epcot/MGM, then BCV would be best. Personally, I like VWL better, but that's just a personal preference! BCV is a favorite of a lot of folks too.

i want the sb pool how far is it they show a quiet pool so i'm just wondering how far the bc facilities are...kids are 7/12

Since you phrased your question in terms of the kids and then said they'd prefer SAB at BCV, well, there's your answer.

Stay at BC but have dinner at and maybe watch the electrical parade or boat to MK from WL.

I think WL is a nicely themed resort, but, being from the mts of Colorado...when I go to Disney I want something OTHER than what I have at home.

If you like the 'doings' at one and the 'theming' of another...try to stay at the one where you are 'doing' the most stuff and then relazing at dinner at the one that 'feels' the ambiance you like. And then take a trip without the kids and stay at WL for the romance!

I would choose BCV, because I love the pool, the location and the themeing of the resort. I like VWL too, and think it is quite lovely and serene, but there is something to be said about being able to walk/boat to MGM & Epcot and have all the action on the Boardwalk right at your fingertips!

If you are considering these 2 resorts in terms of purchasing a DVC contract, consider this other point...your kids will not be little forever. It is a long-term contract, and your family will be going through many changes in the course of the term. You don't say how old your kids are, but if they are...say...in the 10 year old age range, in 10 years they will be adults and you will still have 25-30 years left on your contract and will it still be that important to be that close to the MK???? Maybe it will, because the MK is your absolute favorite place.

But those are the other things you should consider
.

Good luck with your decision.

One vote for VWL here! We have two children too, DS is 6 and DD is 1.
We restled for six months over the same question, and in the end decided we planned more fall and winter trips than summer and that the VWL would be better for us. Then we got a great VWL resale for exactly what size we wanted (250 pts) and things just fell into place. We had never seen either property except for the net and just took our first trip last month. We stayed at VWL and visited BCV. I am very happy with our decision. VWL is wonderful! I can only imagine how great it will be during the holidays. I do love the closeness of BCV to Epcot and it is lovely, but the theming was not near as nice as VWL.
Now, if the villas were at the Yacht Club, that would be different. I love the theming there, I'm a sucker for hard wood, brass and boats.
Regardless, we are convinced we made the right decision and the best thing is, we can still reserve at BCV if we want to, maybe not during the busiest times, but we don't want to go then anyway.
When you make your decision, don't forget to take into consideration when you will be making your trips. If during the warm months, BCV has an advantage. If during the cold months, a beach theme might not be as desirable. Just my opinion.

I like them both so much that we have decided to rotate between them each year. Next year we are going to BCV, then the following year we hope to get in at VWL.

They are both so nice, it is hard to choose, but I am glad we can go to both!

Request a room handy to the elevators...then you're less than...oh, a 3 minute stroll...?

We had a "turret" studio, right next to the elevator - just about as far as you could be from SAB - we just took the elevator to the first floor, walked through the quiet pool area, into BC, through the lobby, and bingo!:)

Your children are going to LOVE the pool:)

Something you might want to keep in mind....

...your children will only be kids for a few years, while the DVC contracts are for another 37 years (49 in the case of SSR). So do you really want to make a DVC location decision based on where your kids want to swim?

Go with where YOU would like to stay the most over the next few decades. You can still stay at BCV, but if the pool for the kids is the only reason you'd like to stay there, I wouldn't purchase there.

Just my opinion. YMMV. :)
