We are going to WDW on the 14th of July and have a total of 2.5 day's planned for Epcot. I want to try to get into Beirgarten for lunch one day but have not made any lunch reservations per DH's request. Do you think it would be possible to get a lunch seating there?

Why doesn't he want any ADRs made? Seems very silly, and if it were me, I'd make the ADR and just not tell him. That way you have it just incase, and if you decide not to go there, you can cancle.

Biergarten is not supremely popular. Can you talk him into making an ADR the day of or the day before? Then you will eliminate any suprises when you arrive. a walkup may be possible, but that way you are sure.

He told me I could make them for breakfast and dinner (which I did) but that he didn't want to rush around the parks to get to meals. Which I understand. I have only made 2 ADR's for lunch...one on the day we arrive (by the time we get off the DME @ the resort and check in, it will be dinner time) and the other on our Anniversary in AK).

I agree with PP, secretly make the ADR. When we ate lunch at Biergarten last June, we saw a couple walk up without an ADR. They were told there wasn't anything available and they don't take walk-ups, so should go to Guest Services to see if they could get a dinner ADR. The man had a fit and asked for the manager. The manager told them the same thing. The restaurant wasn't full, so not sure why they couldn't be seated. Maybe they didn't have enough servers that day or they don't like walk-ups. Who knows, but it's not worth the hassle of taking a chance if you really want to eat there.

Decided to go for it and make an ADR (and if we decided to walk up earlier, we have the ADR so it would just be us asking to move us up slightly). Got one though for after 1pm:banana:

I would go ahead and make an adr your DH is not going to be a happy camper if he has to stand in a long line at a CS place then search for a table in the hot and humid July temps.

Last time we were in Disney we had no ADRs made it was during spring break we did get fish and chips in Epcot but could not find a spot to sit down, so we ended up sitting on a wall near the water with the seagulls dive bombing us a few times ..........not fun. :scared1:

One day we did get into Biergarten without an ADR but that day it was just two of us instead of four.

Searching for a place to eat does not make for a fun time, its far better to have an adr in the A/C somewhere

Glad to hear you got the ADR!! We DH and I went last September, I wasn't thrilled having to run through EPCOT to get to our ADR's. I can understand why he wouldn't want to be held to a specific time, but if you know you want to eat lunch there (and we ate there last September and the food was great), then making the ADR was the right decision.

Have a great trip!!

I also don't like running around to make ADRs. But I have them just in case! And if we decide not to go, I just cancel it. Since we're not on the dining plan (so I don't have to find somewhere else to use my credits), we're fine.
