would you cancel WL or move to All Star Movies?

Long story, but the oportunity came up and now we are buying a house around the same time we have our WDW trip booked ... SO my DH wants me to cancel our trip (he wasn't too excited about it anyway... hates theme parks, worried about the economy, worried about traveling in the US, thinks the kids are too young (2 & 5).
SO, we have all our PS even CRT BK (so exicted about that) & MVMCP tickets .... well do you think I should cancel and loose our airline & MVMCP tickets money... or should I down grade to All Star Movies and save about $1000.00 ?? I think that might make him happy.... not to mention if Free Dining comes back.

I would just move to ASM.. I love that place anyways.. its so kid related! I wouldn't cancel.. no way! Congrats on getting a new house!

Don't cancel!

Switch to a value resort (ASMo, POP) and support our economy by travelling in the US! Your kids are not too young! My son's first trip to WDW was when he was one and he remembers some things. My daughter's first trip was when she was 3 months! Now she doesn't remember that trip, but she's been there twice so far and her third trip is coming up soon.

So, go, have fun, save $1000, and do and see what you can! You'll have a blast!

Switch to All Star Movies. Your kids will love it. My 2 and 3 year olds loved it so much we're going again this year.

Tell DH it's wasteful to throw away the airfare and MVMCP tickets and the economy will benefit from your trip and the kids and you will benefit from some Disney magic. Sounds like he's not a Disney guy anyway, so this might just be a way to get out of the trip. Show him how much money he will lose and it might change his mind.

I say go to All Star Movies! I think you will be very pleasanty surpised at how much the All Stars really have to offer!

I am 55 years old and travel several times a year. I often stay at 4 star hotels.
So the deluxe resorts do not have anything special for me.
All Star is like being in the heart of the Magic and that is where I want to be.

All Star Music is my favorite.It is quieter because more couples stay there. I love staying at the Clypso building. It is closer to the pool,food court and bus stop.

The Calypso buildings at All Star Music are #1 and #10 are nearest to the food court and bus stop.
They are the preferred buildings and cost about $12 extra per night.
The Calypso pool at ASMU has Donald Duck.

The Fantasia Buildings are the preferred buildings.

It is a great place to stay .
Preschoolers love it.
It is like being in the middle of a Disney Movie Fantasyland.
The buses are wonderful.

Bus rides are quite short from the ALL Stars according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses-CBR buses-----PO buses--- Contemporary
MK 20 min---- 20 min--------10 min---20 min(mono)
Epcot 10 min-- 15 min-------10 min---15 min
MGM 10 min----12 min------15 min---20min
AK 10 min------20min------15 min---20 min
DTD 15 min----20 min-------15 min---35 min

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot,MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.

I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney.
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can one find Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse at the pool?

for a different reason. We are leaving in 17 days for ASMovies! Our kids are around the same age (3 and turning 5 during the vacation). I had originally booked the WL then there was some serious family drama and after several changes I am now booked for ASMo. The boys are really looking forward to staying there. I have been showing them pictures and getting them excited. We aren't really planning on spending too much time in the room and they like to sleep in the same bed. I'll report in after we get back but I'm anticipating a great time regardless of where we stay!

Switch!! I want to check out POP myself. My toddler would LOVE the kiddie pool with the jets.
IMO, I'd also leave the DH at home and save some $ there, and bring someone who would really WANT to go! No need for any downers... maybe your relative? your best friend?

Well, what's the math? What's the total cost of the trip, what's the cost if you switch to ASM, what's the cost if you ditch the whole thing? I know the tix are non refundable for MNNSHP, but the plane tix are totally non refundable? I'd say I'd have to see how much you need for a down payment, how much you have, and how much you have to cut as a loss if you don't go. Should be all there in black and white?
