Just curious as to what others thought. I think I would, honestly.

When looking at what resort to buy into the close proximity to Epcot/DHS and SAB were a major selling point to us at BCV but I couldn't stomach paying those high prices when you could get BLT for not much more --with a contract that has much more life left in it. We narrowed down our choices to SSR and BLT and ended up putting an offer in on SSR but if there were a YCV around.....:scratchin

Conventions at Disney's Yacht Club Resort are incredibly lucrative for Disney Meetings. The ballrooms, exhibit halls, breakout rooms, and boardrooms are regularly booked by various coalitions, partnerships, and societies. As long as the convention business remains strong, as it has for many years, rooms will not be converted at Disney's Yacht Club. Moreover, there has been concern, within the Disney Meetings division, that the addition of a DVC to Disney's Yacht Club Resort would drive convention business to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin (e.g., fewer rooms, fewer potential convention room blocks).

Know that there is a strong constituency within the company that wants Disney's Yacht Club Resort to continue without a DVC presence.

I cannot imagine that Disney isn't looking at the resale pricing of BCV and Boardwalk and not plotting something. If not YCV, something else.

If built, it would have to have something special for us to consider. I don't see it having a great view of anything. We own BCV and being behind the BC it really doesn't have much of a view.

:earsboy: Bill

I would not because we already own at BCV.

But can you imagine what the price per point would be?? OMG.

Not at the price it would be.

The single exception might be if they really upped their game on the rooms and amenities. PVB was actually drawing my interest when it looked like it would get a feature pool more similar to Aulani and be a complete DVC with studios, 1brs, 2brs etc. When it came out as PVB lite then there wasn't even a little lingering interest to own there and we'll just enjoy stays there now and then.

No and no. I own what I own and I got it at (compared to today's current prices) a tremendous value. I have been able to get a room a EVERY resort I want with my home resort points (no desire to stay at Poly or GFV) and I just don't see any value in staying there over the BCV. What added benefit is there over BC?

AKV was my original home resort so whenever I added points I added to AKV to keep it simple. When I heard the rumors of building at the poly I was strongly considering adding on there (enough to stay a week in a 2 BR every other year).By the time they built at the Poly points went from around 100 to 165/pt . I was still considering getting points at that price but changing my thinking to once every three years at Poly. Then they never added the 2BR so it became a moot point. Yacht Club would be interesting because I do like the Epcot area but don't think there will be any "wow" factor views that you can just sit back and enjoy being on the balcony .If they have some kind of water/pool view that is acceptable to my taste I would consider it. Like someone else said , if its built behind the hotel with no real view it's definitely not for me at the current prices.( and I'm sure by the time they build they will be even more).

If would have built YCV in 2004, rather than SSR, then, YES -- at that time I would have purchased YCV. Now? No, I can't see buying any additional points at WDW. But more DVC at DLR would be grand.

DVC has priced me out of the line up for any direct purchases. I own at Boardwalk (which I love) and Beach Club (never actually stayed there). Would like to purchase more points, but not at the current prices, which we know will never come down. Can't figure out how they are selling at these prices.

At the prices and points per room they want now? I can't see it. Nothing special about the resort itself to me. Access to DHS and Epcot are nice, as is the Boardwalk, but not for what would probably be $185 per point and 19 points per night in a studio in off season.

NO!! Disney priced us out of ever buying anything from them again (direct). Our buy-in 10 years ago was such a bargain compared to what people pay today. I don't know who these people are who can afford todays prices but they're not middle middle class any more. Plus as many pointed out there's already BCV - is there really a need for one at Yacht Club?

The location is not enough without a view especially at the current new resort pricing, so no we would not buy.

No I would not. I already bought at VGF direct and at Disney prices; I have no regrets since I bought into the resort I wanted. But with that said, my next purchase will be in the resale market.

VGF was the only resort I could justify at $165/pt. No, we are finished purchasing anymore points.
