Would you buy a DVC Annual Pass without park hopping?

I have the Gold AP but rarely park hop. Now that we're DVC and have been a lot, we like to spend some time relaxing at the resort instead of going to a second park.

We recently renewed our gold passes. While park hopping off the table, we rarely did it. Maybe a couple of times from HS to Epcot.

I also would like to add that as a DVC member, I think not allowing us to buy APs really stinks. We bought into DVC mainly so that we could go a few times a year, and the APs make that even more of a probability that we'll go. We spend a lot of money on food and merchandise while we're there, since the majority of our trips are now adults only, since the kids are grown with lives of their own. Maybe one trip a year includes extended family. The other thing that really has me annoyed is that you can't purchase more than a 7 day park pass now. We added a night on at the beginning of our October trip, so we'll be there for 8 full days. I thought I could just add one more day to our 7 day park pass for what it used to cost, maybe around $25 extra. Now you have to start over with a 1 day pass, and what are they up to, around $150? I know Disney is trying to make up some of the revenue they lost, but come on! So we'll just spend that day at our resort, enjoying the pool, etc. As far as the hopping goes, we'll be spending a lot more evenings at Disney Springs for dinner. We mainly used park hopping for dining at one of the parks in the evening, so now our entire way of vacationing at WDW has changed, and definitely not for the better.

These aren't permanent changes, are they?

No, and we also have to remember that the stopping of APs has a big impact on all guests, and not just DVC.

I would even bet that DVC is not the largest group to buy APs...locals are.

Once they can bring back park hopping, I think we will see them back.

I sure hope not, but we really don't know for sure. Not allowing more than a 7 day park pass is more upsetting to me than not being able to get an AP right now. I really don't know what they're thinking, but from what I'm reading here and elsewhere, people aren't going to put up with getting less for more for too much longer.

It would have to be a significant savings for us to give up the ability to hop. We usually hop in the evening (after a rest) to see fireworks and/or have a meal at a different park. Or sometimes it's just to get us through EPCOT and to the other side of the park to catch the monorail to somewhere.
