Would you book a moderate and fly or drive and do a deluxe?

We just got back from our Christmas vacation and we drove. We got to stay at the Polynesian for 9 nights. We drove all the way from Wisconsin with 2 kids, in an Escalade. We thought for sure our Escalade would be a gas guzzler, but we ended up spending $500 roundtrip, so it wasn't too bad.

Personally, I would much rather stay at a deluxe, but that's just me. :)

Good luck!

I forgot to mention...its way cool to wake up in Atlanta and have lunch at Disney. This would be even cooler if you can actually swing waking up in your own bed and having lunch at Disney.:thumbsup2

I'd fly and stay at POFQ. It's so beautiful and the boat ride to DTD is fantastic. Remember that POFQ has its own bus stop at MK in the evening. One other note, the hot tub is very secluded. It is not visible from the pool, so kids don't tend to hangout in it. Be sure to try the beignets.

Twelve hours? I would drive and stay at a deluxe. I would drive and stay at a mod as well. Our drive took 18- 20 hrs (I will never do that again!)

I would definately drive and stay at a deluxe. You have to drive at either end of your vacation but you'll have the deluxe hotel the entire time. Also, no stress or worries about the airport and times.

It is about an 11 hour drive for us and we always drive. It will cost us about $200 to drive. It would cost at least $400 to fly if we got a rock bottom rate, (and probably more like $800). So it would still double our traveling cost and we wouldn't save that much time in the long run, knowing how airports are these days.

I hate being in a car for more than 2 hours, even with breaks, so for me flying would be the obvious choice. :)

We have 6 children and I would way rather drive and stay at a deluxe. We always drive....it's fun and we enjoy the family time :grouphug: . Of course both my huband and I grew up with the old fashioned driving across country vacations! We drove to Las Vegas for a baseball trny for DS14 a few years back.....the rest of the team had 2 children families and flew. We would never trade driving in to Vegas over the Hoover Dam for an airplane ride! It was totally AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! Even in 110 degree July heat! :goodvibes
