would you be miffed?

I would simple tell it like it is. "I'm sorry, but my kids ARE babysitters. They do not go to a babysitter. They will be spending the evening along with us. Is that a problem?"

Well, I worried for nothing because he ended up with a fever of 103 and he and DH both stayed home sick!! He would have been expected to go to the babysitters because they wanted only adults in the room when they did a "this is your life" for my aunt and uncle.

Hmm ... that's very strange. My DH's aunt and uncle are also celebrating their 50th soon (we're leaving WDW a little early to be back in time for the big party). There was no question about whether Celia, who is 6, was invited to the party. The only question was if she wanted to sit with us or at the kid table (she's the youngest). I said: "Kid table!" She'll have a blast. In fact, they have a "Kid Table" and a "Teen Table" so the older kids don't feel too juvenile. What even more impressive, these people never even had children, but they can still know how kids feel and what they might want.
