My housemate and her BF went home from college this weekend to see a concert.

When they'd driven the 3hrs home, her BF realised he'd left the tickets behind! There wasn't time to come back and get them and they couldn't find a way of getting them, so they didn't go.

The tickets were expensive and they'd been looking forward to it for a while....so she is MAD MAD MAD at him!

but for some reason, I genuinely would NOT be mad at BF if he did this. I get angry with him a lot (poor thing!), but this really would not make me angry...I don't know why....

Would anyone else really not get mad about this?

I'm so backwards, the tiniest thing can make me angry, but something like this would just make me laugh!

I'd be really mad at first, but who really is to blame anyway? Him, for leaving the tickets at home, or her, for not asking him if he had them before they left?

It's something that I'd laugh about later.

This reminds me of my brother, when he was in college. The Who were playing at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. He and his gf were driving by, saw all of the people there and decided to see how much the scalpers were getting. He found a guy who'd sell him 2 tickets for $20 because the concert had already started. My brother didn't have $20 on him. They had to go to the ATM to get the money and then come back, hoping that the scalper was still there. He was, and they got to see the show for $10 each.

Wow! The who for $10! Talk about money well spent!

It would depend on if it was someone I wanted to see or not. But if I wanted to see the show badly I would have made sure I had taken the tickets myself.

I would be peeved. I got mad at hubby once b/c he left a ticket in the car. Of course I had just done a marathon and had the flu and was not feeling very chipper.

I would laugh about it a long time from then--but price tickets--long trip and the tickets were at home. Honey would be in the dog house for a bit.

But I do agree--at some point this would be very funny.

Yes, I would be mad. Although, did she remind him to take them? If he had them in his possession, then it really is his responsibility.

We took my son to the circus last year and while I was getting his jacket on, I told DH to grab the tickets. Two minutes later as we were pulling out of the driveway, I was being smart and asked him if he had the tickets. He said, "No I gave them to you." No he didn't, he just set them on the counter :confused3 . If I hadn't have asked him, I still would have been furious with him because I told him to take them.

I think I'd be irritated, but not really mad - especially if it was a rare event. People make mistakes.

Our DD got married on Saturday and there were two cash payments that DH needed to bring to the reception. He wrote out the envelopes, had everything ready, it was all good. I even recall asking him if he had them and his wallet.

So there we are in the limo on the way to the church. DH realizes that the envelopes and his wallet are back home on his dresser. No problem, after the ceremony we'll send DS home to get them and bring them to the reception.

DS was supposed to drive me to the reception after the ceremony. (DH was going in the limo with the bridal party.) I was distracted, and I see DS driving off. Meanwhile, most everyone is on their way to the reception, and I'm standing there in the parking lot. Fortunately I was able to get a ride from a friend before they left.

I wasn't mad at DH, but it would have been easier if he put a little more thought into Plan B. :teeth:

um I would have been pissed! And forget it if it was Madonna....... That would lead to divorce

Regina, I guess they showed YOU how much you mattered. :teeth:

My Mom was left at a pizza place once about 20 minutes from her house. My Dad thought she was going with my brother and his family. Brother thought she was going with my sister and her family and sister thought she was going with Dad.

Luckily, when she realized that she'd been abandoned, she called my Dad, at home, since he didn't have his cell and he drove back for her.

At least you have a funny story from the wedding!

Most venues would have been able to reprint the tickets if they were purchased with a credit card. I know we can...especially if they were purchased through ticketmaster. Cash tickets are hard to prove unless someone is at home reading the codes off of them.

I thought I was unusual in the fact that it wouldn't annoy me.

If I'm honest I'M the forgetful one and BF is annoyingly organised...so if he forgot them I'd be secretly pleased that he'd messed up for once rather than me! ;)

I was fundraising in front of Walmart over 4th of July weekend. A young woman asks to borrow my phone. It seems she flew home for a surprise party for her mother (not a cheap ticket due to where she was flying from). As the distraction--she takes mom to Wal-mart--and not the one near there house...this one is several miles away. Mom evidently was bored with Wal-mart--so she leaves daughter at Wal-mart and goes home. So I can hear the entire side of her conversation. It seems everyone at home was partying--and kinda didn't notice they were missing somebody. And flighty mom said nothing. I guess she was expecting her daughter to POOF herself home.

The girl was MIFFED--as would I be. Though I just cannot picture my family doing this.
