DD and I will be at DL for 4 days. First visit for her and second for me but my visit was years ago. We currently have 3 day tickets and tickets for the Halloween party on Wed Sept 20th. We will want to experience as many attractions as possible as we are huge Disney fans. Here's our schedule:
Sunday Sept 17th, DL all day, may take a break at our hotel ( 15 min walk) and see both fireworks and Fantasmic. Fireworks are at 9:30. Is it possible to see Fantasmic at 9:00 and also catch the fireworks or should we plan on the 10:30 Fantasmic show?
Monday Sept 18, DCA emh at 9:00 closes at 8 but staying for WOC at 8:15, again may take break at hotel if needed.
Tuesday Sept 19, not sure DCA or DL hence the park hopper decision...I think it may be very useful for this day.
Wednesday, Sept 20, we have tickets for the Halloween party but we're not sure how many rides and shows outside of the party events we will reasonably see.
How do my plans look? Would you add a park hopper. I believe we can add anytime though correct?

You can upgrade to parkhopper once you get there.

Are you getting maxpass? If so I'd definitely get a PH.

If not I question the value of it because you have to run back and forth on foot.

Monday you cannot attend the early morning hour unless you're staying on site. Are you?

Wednesday I wouldn't plan on getting much done. Have all your must sees done prior to this day.

I agree with smartlabel, if getting maxpass, parkhoppers are a must. In the past, when we've had ph's, we barely hopped and forced ourselves to. With maxpass, parkhopping is a lot easier

I personally think that if you want to make the most of your time, you need a park hopper. And MaxPass - at least for the first two days. We always get park hoppers and visit both parks every day - even if it just for a single show + ride + favorite snack (like a 2 hour venture in).

You must be staying on site to get the EMH at DCA. If you are staying on-site, then for sure take advantage of the early access to both parks every day, if you can.

Yes, you can see Fantasmic! and fireworks on the same night. In fact, the water screen images that accompany the fireworks are in the same space as Fantasmic!. Go to the early show and then walk up to the railing for an awesome view.

Thanks everyone. I have incorrect info then. We are not staying onsite but purchased 3 day tickets that I THOUGHT meant we could attend one emh. We don't need to though so that doesn't really affect our plans.

You get one magic morning which is Disneyland only. EMH is only for hotel guests.
