Would this be taking advantage of Costco return?

I think they stand by their products or so I was told when I question them about LCD TV's- you can bring them back at any point I was told..

Unfortunately no longer the case. They offer a 1 year warranty after the manufacturer's 1 year warranty. We bought a 70 inch Sharp that just had the panel go out. It was two years old in February, went bad in August and we were out of luck. Our new tv isn't a Sharp and it didn't come from Costco. i would expect a tv to last more than 2.5 years, but it didn't.

Yeah, but it was probably true 8 years ago when it was originally posted.

If you used a credit card check and see if they have a extended warrantee on items bought with the card.

I was just at Costco today to return a box of snacks that were just awful. I have never done this before because I didn't like something but now with DH retired and watching money more closely I felt it was ok since it was a $9. box of snacks.

In front of me was a person returning hamburgers (frozen), hot dogs and about a dozen bags of burger and hot dog rolls. She returned about $200 worth of food. I would imagine it all would have to be thrown in the garbage.

Yes it all goes in the trash. It's terrible watching people who overbought for a party returning food that just goes right in the garbage. If you don't like the taste or there is something wrong by all means return it.

I personally wouldnt even think of returning something 3.5 years later..that would be like trying to return a car 3.5years after purchase that ended up with alot of problems (and many of us have had that happen) to me anyway

I know you said 3.5 years so this is a little different. However, you can actually return a car if you buy it brand new and it has a threshold dollar value of needed repairs with a year or 18 months. The guidelines are affected by state, but they are generally referred to as "lemon laws"
