Would this be okay?

We are arriving to Pop Century in October on the day of my son's 2nd birthday. I am thinking of making him a little surprise "party" in the Pop food court. I will send DP with the baby elsewhere while I put a cute Mickey tablecloth and balloons on one of the little tables, get one of the small 6 inch cakes that they sell, and add cute candles on top to sing "Happy Birthday" to him.

Have you ever seen a family do something like that? Would Pop get mad if we did that? I wouldn't want to be embarrassed if it's not allowed!

Thanks!

I would call the front desk and ask first. It sounds like it wouldn't be a big deal but you never know.
There is a great thread on the resorts board about Pop that you should definitely check out before you go. It has all of the contact info for Pop and may even hold the answer to your question! Good Luck!:goodvibes

I can't imagine that it would not be allowed. You would want to plan it for an off time though. The food court can get extremely crowded and loud at meal times. It might be overwhelming for your DS. As another option, there is a small table in your room at POP. You could always set it up and surprise him there.

Enjoy your trip and Happy Birthday to your DS!

Great idea. The food court is huge so I would not think it would be a problem, especially if you go at an off hour maybe 2-3 p.m. I would ask a cm before though, just to be certain but Disney is a place of celebrations! If I saw you in the food court singing happy birthday I'd probably come over and wish him as well!:bday:

That is a really good idea and makes more sense! I think I will deck out our room and set up the table for his birthday so he won't be overwhelmed. Thank you!

So maybe I will scope out the food court when we arrive to see if it's do-able! :)

I don't know if Pop is set up like the All Stars, but it might be fun to do it at one of the tables outside near the pool :cool1: I think it's a great idea, and I can't imagine that there will be a problem with doing what you plan.

I think this is a great idea. There are tables outside the food court and some down by the main pool.

Make sure to also get him a birthday button.

Linda
