I'd love to see the christmas decorations at disney, and was planning a post christmas trip. However I'm now not sure if I can get time off at work so was thinking of a compromise.

Early morning flight sat in late November/early December to DLRP
1 nights accomodation
Late flight back Sunday night

I know I'd only be able to "do" a few rides due to the crowds, but would love to soak up the festive shows and atmosphere.

Would that be crazy?

This is what I plan on doing next year for halloween but with Eurostar instead of flights!! :)

Go for it I say!! :)

No, I don't think it's crazy. I would do that too if I had the chance. Go for it, I say, you won't regret it.

I've done it before. Used the fact that i was only staying for one night as a reason to stay in the Disneyland Hotel, - less time walking to and from hotel :thumbsup2 Plus one night accomodation doesn't seem quite as expensive.:rotfl:

Totally reasonable and the Mrs and I are thinking of doing the same but with the Eurostar instead (as we live about 20 mins from Ashford)

well you still have two days there so i say go for it

Go for it! :thumbsup2 Plan to spend your time soaking up the atmosphere, enjoying the theming and having a lovely meal ~ any rides you get to do will then be a bonus!! :goodvibes

I always think that rides are like a nice extra at disney! For me the magic is in the castle, scenery and the parade. Rides are like the cherry on top!! :)

we are doing similar!

but arriving late on the fri
travelling back late on sunday

will be sooooooooo tired by the monday lol !! but will be worth it :goodvibes :wizard:

Love your reasoning there

Sounds good to me. we are looking at going to DLP on Sat returning Sunday, for Halloween and Christmas.

Point of trip is to soak in the holiday atmosphere and entertainment, and maybe a couple of rides with limited queues but bang for waiting buck (PotC, PM)

There are others who have went on a day trip, so I concur definitely not crazy going for 1 night :goodvibes

The first time I went to DLP, we took the first train on Saturday morning, spent one night at the Santa Fe, took the last train on Sunday evening, and did every ride twice.
This was during Christmas season, but was rather early in December.

Go for it :thumbsup2 i would join you if i could LOL:rotfl:

I don't think it is crazy. My dad & I drove there & back in one day just to experience the Christmas season. We left very early in the morning & got back about 11pm

If I lived in the South Id certainly do it (on a regular basis) :rotfl:
