Would this be a problem?

We're currently booked for a driving trip in August, but a couple of things are up in the air and the changes might mean we'd fly. If we do, we're planning to change resorts because I don't want to be at Ft Wilderness without a car, and I was playing with the various options.

One of those options is two rooms at Pop. We'd have DH & both "adult" kids in one room, me and our "child" kid in the other. What I was thinking is that we'd add the DxDDP for the adult room and no plan for the other, since we have a 3yo that prefers adult foods and a 10yo that eats like a bird. We aren't planning on any buffet or family style meals this trip that would make the plan worth having for them.

Are we likely to have problems at any of the restaurants with ordering 3 full DxDDP adult meals and one OOP entree - usually from the adult menu, but maybe the occasional kids' meal from time to time - for the two non-plan guests to share between them?

I don't see how it could be a problem. It would be no different than if you had a guest (perhaps a relative living in the Orlando area) join you at your meal. As long as your family is not sharing their "on-the-plan" meals with you or the three year old, I think it would be fine.

Yes, I think it will work just fine...well technically you're not supposed to buy actual meals for people not on the plan - but that's not what you're talking about, right? You're talking about ordering the actual number of meals that = number of people on the plan. Wouldn't worry about sharing food at the table, either. We have been on the DxDP, eating with friends who were paying cash for their meals. The waiters always brought out 4 plates with the two appetizers hubby and I ordered...and 4 plates & 4 spoons with the 2 desserts hubby & I ordered (friends on cash just ordered entress & drinks.) The waiters knew from the start that hubby & I were on the DxDP (they took our card to check it before we place our orders.) But it was very obvious the servers expected us to be sharing our apps & desserts...we never asked for 4 plates or 4 spoons on the desserts.

I am going to close this as it is technically regarding sharing dining plan meals with guests who are not on the dining plan. I have no idea what to really do with this. Might be able to reopen it later but for now it is closed.
