Would the start of war with Iraq change your holiday plans ?

How would the start of war with Iraq change your holiday plans ?

  • I have holiday booked for 2003 but would cancel it

  • I have holiday booked for 2003 but would wait untill last minute before cancelling.

  • If Disney is open, I will be there.

  • War or not, I have no plans to visit Disney this year

  • Haven't really thought that much about it.

Seen this question asked on the US dvc site and wondered how different the answers would be here.

Don't really know what I would answer - guess that makes it no 5.

Im actually more worried about it being cancelled than about going.

Going start of May and can't wait.

We're booked to be in San Francisco and LA during Easter this year. I can't imagine a scenario in which I would cancel unless the Foreign Office advised UK residents not to travel to the US, and that, I guess, will never happen.

Rob

Same as Rob, would only not travel if the FO recommended not to travel.
We are off to San Francisco on 22 Feb, DH says at least we are going in the opposite direction!!!

Just another thought on this: do you think there will be many people who cancel trips to the US not because of fears over personal safety, but as an economic protest against the current American foreign policies? Although things would have to change a great deal before I considered this as necessary, I could imagine taking this option before I was prepared to cancel a holiday because of security concerns.

Regards

Rob

I am going next week - I am not going to be stopped from going.

Unless there is a personal threat. Life is too short.

We booked last week to go next month and have no concerns about possible problems re the Iraq situation. If the USA (and UK) take action against Sadam it will be entirely justified and I will be pleased to be able to show my support for that action in such a pleasurable way.

We are booked for end of August, have bought park tickets (at a great price through Ticketmania.com 'cos of exchange rate being so great!!). No way will we cancel - we went 3 weeks after sept 11 and although we were stressed before we went we had a better time than the first time we went and everybody was so grateful that we were there - the theme park staff were especially extra nice and welcoming - everybody needs a job! So not worrying about the war at all, I will be there unless I am physically stopped!!!!

Our plans haven't changed, still off to New York tomorrow and then California in June. As has already been mentioned if FO advised not to travel and we got our money back then I may consider it, but only if things looked really bad.
Other than that can't wait until tomorrow and have a happy holiday to anyone else travelling soon.
Claire :D

I completely agree with Rob:) I am so against the US's political tactics at present,if I had any moral fibre I should refuse to go on the those grounds:(

I'm glad you agree with me Kazzie (it rarely happens that people do!). However, I should point out that I have no principled objections to the outcomes that the USA are trying to achieve (and therefore won't boycott travelling to the States). I do have major reservations about the ham-fisted way that Bush is going about the whole business, but that's for another post...

We are going in May, hopefully it will all have sorted itself out by then.

If there no problems in Orlando we will be going, being a nervous flier though I have to say all this doesn't help, wouldn't stop us going though.

We fly to Gatwick tomorrow and on to Orlando on Friday. The only thing to stop me will be the airports being closed.

Rob's point allowing, unless the FO state catagorically that we shouldn't fly there, or there are no flights, we'll be on the plane in May.

Yup, same here! Unless there is a FO warning or no flights - it won't stop me going or flying anywhere.

I can well imagine what the insurance companies will be saying to anyone who tries to cancel!!

Another vote for 'if Disney's open - i'll be there' - it better be, we're off tomorrow. YIPPEE!!!!!!
