Would switch from Cypress Harbour to Bonnet Creek for same price?

I "thought" we were all set for our trip in 27 days to stay at Cypress Harbour. But...I was "lurking around" on some villa rental boards, and "may" be able to rent from an owner at Bonnet Creek for the same price. If this works out, I'm not sure what to do. I really researched the Marriott Vacation Clubs, and was happy with my choice. But...here are the "pros" of Bonnet Creek vs. CH: 1) location! In mid-late June, this may be an important one. We do plan on taking breaks during the afternoon heat, and returning to the parks in the evenings, 2) the 2nd bedroom at BC is larger and has 2 double beds, the CH 2nd bedroom has one bed and a sofa sleeper and is cramped when the sleeper is open. We have 3 big boys that will be sharing that bedroom. 3) I think the BC pools have a lazy river and slide which my kiddos would really enjoy. Oh, decisions, decisions. What is so funny about this, is that I responded to a post a few weeks ago on the Disney resorts board about people changing their resort choices after making reservations at one. I said, "no, I have never done that"! HA-HA! What do you think? Are there any negatives about BC that I am not aware of? Thanks!

I've stayed at both and would choose Bonnet Creek. The only thing Marriott has over BC is non-aggressive sales people. Stay away from the presenation and you will love BC. Staff is very friendly and helpful and you can't beat the accommodations.

marriott cypress harbour is more relaxing than bonnet creek.

bc is newer and nicer - but it is more like SSR. while CH is more like OKW.

if this makes sense to you.

i have never stayed at BC, matter a fact, I've never heard of it, but we've stayed a number of TS resorts and CH is our favorite for the many reasons that you already know about. Would the Marriott name insure a higher quality standard then BC?

Thanks for your thoughts. I will certainly be very happy with Cypress Harbour no matter what. Jeff, Bonnet Creek is owned by Wyndam and is actually on Disney property, located next to the Caribbean Beach Resort I believe. It gets great reviews here and on Trip Advisor (as does CH!), and would be the same transportation time as staying at a Disney-owned resort. This may not even work out...the owner has been able to secure one of our weeks but not the other yet, and DH does NOT want to switch resorts during the trip, as we are already spending the last 2 nights at Royal Pacific. The owner is calling each am checking for cancellations. Either way...it will be a wonderful trip and we are so excited to go!!!

Bonnett creek is slightly different than the others Wynham - when it was Fairfield they knew they were going head to head with DVC. So it is very upgraded.

then I did their tour was very impressed. definitely a bunch of steps above the other Wynham timeshares.

oh by the way - DVC knows it is better and so advertised across from it....

on the same property they are building some fancy hotels - Westin, Hilton and some other high quality corporations are building there too.

this land is not owned by Wynham.

IT IS NOT on disney property. Sorry but it isn't. So no on-site things. NO DME, EMH, WDW transportation, using ID as credit card at WDW, purchase going to your resort.

the transportation isn't quite as good as the DTD - the buses come every hour. don't remember if there was a different bus for each park or what.

Would be the same transportation time as staying at a Disney-owned resort.

this is not true.

WDW transportation is very 20 minutes (average - some are faster, some are slower)

this transportation is every hour.

I meant we are driving to the parks...so it would take the same amount of time to drive from Bonnet Creek as it would to drive from SSR, for example. It would definitely be a shorter commute than Cypress Harbour, so that is a big plus.

I just booked at BC for a 920 sq foot one bedroom I am paying $120 a night and that includes weekeds. If I was staying in the same size room at disney it would probably be $500 or more a night. I went by this property two years ago and it was impressive. It is between carribean beach and french quarter. Although it may now be disney owned/property it may as well be. Will have a car so transporation is not an issue. Two bedroom 1280 square bedrooms go for about $200 a night in the high season if you rent from the owner.
