Would like to try BCV

We were at WDW after Christmas and the crowds were very busy. I upgraded my two youngest kids passes to annual passes with the plan on going back sometime next fall to enjoy the parks with less people. My husband and two older kids will stay at home so I am looking for a slower pace. We own at SSR and AKV but would like to book BCV to try the pool out. So, my question, when is the best time to go (crowd level, weather) and what are my chances of getting BCV at that time of year?

I would think that going to BCV in September before Food & Wine would give you a better chance to get a room there.

We just got 2 nights in a BCV studio for the end of July/early August at the 7 month window and then I just added a 3rd night last week, just about 6 months out.

Before we owned at BCV, I was able to get May at BCV, a studio. The F&G show was going on then. I wonder if even now, you could get into the last weeks of May this year since the F&G show ends earlier.

How old are your two youngest children? Stormalong Bay can get a little hairy with younger children because of the deep areas (8') and swift current. Over near the YC, there is a nice area for younger children with sand and a smaller slide.

Although we own at BCV, I booked BCV for early September at around 4-5 months out two years in a row (Southwest had a last-minute rate I just couldn't refuse:rotfl2:)

We were able to get a studio at the beginning of May about 6 months out, no problem. F&G is going on at the time I am there.

I just booked a studio for 5 nights, Sun-Fri no less :dance3: the last week in July, so 6 months out... I was suprised it was available!

I would think that availability would be better in September after kids are back in school but before F&W :thumbsup2

If you book at 7 months, you shouldn't have a problem as long as its not F&W. As for Stormalong, I know a lot of people worry about it with little kids, but I personally think its the best pool for younger kids on property. They have a separate, large sand bottomed shallow pool (~2 ft) with a big sandbar that keeps the kids occupied like no other pool I've visited. Sure you have to keep one eye on them because the entire pool complex is large and deep in places, but you'd be watching young kids fairly closely no matter where you are at, not to mention SAB is pretty well covered by LGs.
